Well, I'm back.

I use that subject line way too much to be good. ;)

I hadn't planned on posting one of those 'I'M OKAY!' posts, but after Juppy told me about all the well-wishers I couldn't help but thank you guys. :) Seriously, I went and read them all and.. it just made my day. You have no idea what thoughts like those means during times like these. *hugs you all to pieces*

As far as my home and family, it's a mixed tale. In the outer bands of the storm, it's pretty hit or miss. We just got power back about an hour or so ago, but most of the city is still without. Most of my family fared well except for a few bad incidents, but on the whole we were extremely fortunate and blessed. Mississippi and Eastern Louisiana however... looks like a warzone. :(

Lastly -- if you sent me an email, you'll be replied to eventually. My inbox looks like Katrina went through it as well. ;)

Thanks again you guys -- you make this place what it was intended to be: HOME. I missed you all more than I can even say, and I'm ecstatic to be back!!

On No Votes: Yes, you do earn points for no voting or muggling someone. Just wanted to clear that up. :)

Sig Tags/House Icons: I'd also like to remind you of something in the FAQ -- voting with a House icon or a sig tag will earn you 2 points, instead of the normal one awarded for voting.

Comments: Please, if you forget your name and house when voting on an applicant, do not sign with a second comment. I know it's a hassle to have to delete and start over, but when you're going through 20 apps a week with 70-110 votes apiece, it makes things so much faster when I don't have to look at subcomments.

I'm not sure if this is allowed or not, but I'm desperate and it seemed like a good idea.

All of my family was situated in the areas most affected by Katrina (New Orleans/Slidell/Bogalusa, Louisiana; Gulf Port, Mississippi), and I haven't heard anything from them since the hurricane hit. I think they stayed behind, thinking Katrina wouldn't be this bad, but I'm not sure. I've called the Baton Rouge police department, but they knew little more than I did about what was going on and couldn't offer any phone numbers which might be of help.

I'm asking that if ANYONE at all comes across a list of survivors, deaths, places where people are being sent, or anything at ALL which might help, to please forward me the link or phone number. You can leave a comment on my journal, send me a text, or email me at my lj address.
