my mom got instructions to make the long striped hogwarts scarf and will make one for me :) so i don't know which colours to do. i was sorted into hufflepuff for the communities on lj but i prefer ravenclaw's colours more. so i'm not sure which one to do! she told me she could make the scarf last week but i need to tell her the colours so she can make it (and i can actually wear it- even though i usually don't wear scarfs)

thats the only reason i learned how to knit...to make a PoA scarf muwahahha if you go here (http://knit.atypically.net/scarves/azkaban/pattern.shtml), they tell you what color to use depending on the brand. since im poor, i used red heart which you can get anywhere (i went to walmart). i had to pick out the colors that i thought were best. if you need to, i would fin a sample of what color yarn you need (i believe you can find those brands on the internet) and print out its color swatch. or just have your mom buy one of those brands. otay im done rambling....hopefully something i said will help :)

did you make one that is exactly the same size and everything? I tired making one by casting 70 loops, but I had to start over and do 25 becuase it would have taken me forever to make it.

I made myself a Slytherin one last month and I'm currently working on a Gryffindor one - PoA-style.

I think you should take the colours you're more comfortable with. You know yourself best. I don't see myself as much of a Gryffindor either but I wear a lot of red so just because of the colours I really want one. ;)

Were you thinking of the book colours (blue and bronze) or the movie colours (light and dark blue)?

Thanks, dear *fans*

I didn't like Gabriel anyway *lol* And I screamed at Tavington to be careful because Mel ... I mean Benjamin Martin was going to kill him... I mean... he had him where he wanted him but he had to gloat!!! Why did he have to gloat?? Why are all the bad guys always doing this?? He could have killed Mel Gibson!!! *dies*

Ooh, his comments are to die for! I love the sarcasm in each single word! And yeah, British accents ... especially with his voice... *swoons some more*

poooor heath ledger....er gabriel! hahahahah the first time i saw it i was like GABRIEL HES NOT DEAD STOP MOVING TOARD HIM...HES GONNA GET YOU!! and sure enough he got his *tear*

todays math lesson:
sneaky gabriel + tavingtons sword = bad
tavington + gloat = sharp objects in neck
british accent + sarcasm = major swoonage/faintage
jason issacs + movie + long hair = died and gone to heaven

I have a Slytherin scarf and mitts, and a Gryffindor toque, scarf, and mitts. There wasn't enough nice gray for a Slytherin toque, and I feel greatly cheated by that. :-)

To be honest, I prefer my Gryffindor gear. It's more vibrant than the Slytherin, but I'm totally a Slytherin gal. It's being more of a HP fan than a specific-house fan - people see red and gold and think "Harry Potter!" They see gray and green, and think "That's a long scarf."

And when I say "long scarf", I mean long scarf. I'm 5 foot 4, and when I drap the Gryffindor scarf around my neck, it reaches mid-calf on both sides. My Slytherin one stops just before my knees.

I totally agree with what you said. I was so shocked to find out that my beautiful Slytherin scarf looks almost like the fan scarf of our local football club. *dies* *hates football*

I bought a Slytherin scarf a couple of years ago, and I have worn it obsessively ever since - even during the middle of summer :P I really want a POA style scarf aswell though <3

As far as which colour scheme to go for - it's up to you, really - if you prefer the style of the Ravenclaw colours better, go for that, but if you really want to show off the Hufflepuff pride, go for their colours ;)

I know I am currently working on my Gryffindor scarf, going very slowly, unfortunatly just becuase I don't have the time to knit. I would go with what you want to wear. I think the ravenclaw scarf is more classier then the Hufflepuffs, but go with what you want!! Enjoy!!

I'm very Ravenclaw, with a bit o' Hufflepuff and a bit o' Slytherin. However, I have a Gryffindor scarf :P

Partially because I like the colours, partially because --like was mentioned above-- it's the most recognizable, and partially because I plan to dress as Marauder's-era Remus when HBP comes out.

This comment was not likely to have been helpful at all, and for that, I apologise :P

I love the marauder era dressing up thing! Me and a bunch of my friends made T-shirts to wear to the POA opening. I have pictures here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/aurora_borialis/20117.html at my LJ. We spent awhile on them. It was so completely fun. We had scarves and my friend, who was james, had the HP glasses that I got when I waited in line at midnight to get my OotP.
