Now remember, I don't like doing this :(

In regards to the recent drama, we've decided we're going to have to start docking points.

But first, I'd like to say all pranks, etc, need approval from Steph or I. This is how it was before, I'm not sure how I let it get out of hand. But yes. This include Gryff or Dare.

Now, to the deductions:

10pts from Hufflepuff for the drama-inducing post in the main community.
10pts from Slytherin for responding to drama and helping to keep it going.
50pts from Gryffindor for the thoughtless post and their responses to the drama.

Mindy will be staying as Quidditch mod. We feel she is competent and has learnt her lesson.

And that's the end of that. Any issues, please come see Steph and I.

Also, who's excited about tomorrow?? I am!

Also, come join us in houseunity on AIM, chatchatchatting away!

I have to say, I think this was a great decision. And completely fair. More than house unity, consequences for our actions might actually make us pay attention and stop causing problems.

I find there are many different ways of 'responding' to any situation. First, choosing one side in a fight to flame someone else is a highly immature stance and certainly deserves to have points taken off. Another way is to provide a non-involved party opinion, which is more objective and aims to clarify how position of each side can be seen as hurtful - an opinions rather worth listening to because it can help to avoid drama in the future. Two kinds of responses are aiming to achieve completely opposite effects. I have not read every single post regarding this matter, but those I have read, that were made by my house members, I felt were aiming to achieve the second. I feel rather insulted on behalf of my house that we lost points. However, I also in no way wish to judge or disagree with the opinion of moderators, especially when I know how difficult it must have been to make this decision. But I think I will not be the only one who will feel insulted, which could cause further frictions within the community.

I agree. Showing a party the other side of the conflict should not be punished. Drama should be kept to a minimum, but this leans towards censorship, in my opinion. Perhaps just dock for posts, and leave comments out of it?
