As I was going through the Items Owned to add the anchors, I noticed that there might be some readability issues. Specifically, there's very little negative space to divide up the different types of items and they all look like they run together. I'm not sure what the Club leaders or the folks at St. Mungos or the Wilderness think about it, but I find it hard to read them as they are now. There is a way that I can break them up some to add in some white space and give each class of items a little more distinction, but I wanted some advice about how those should be broken up. The items that you own won't actually change, just the way they're displayed.

Input from everyone is absolutely welcome. I'm particularly interested in the opinions of current and former Clubs leaders and moderators. What would make this function better from the perspective of someone who has to verify items for bonus points or application requirements?

I know that when I was quidditch mod I had an annoyance with the fact that it wasn't uniform. For example on some lists quidditch robes were with the other house robes but on some lists they were with the firebolt and balls. It became very confusing. I think it'd help a lot just having everything either one place or another LOL

hehehe yeah I got why they were in different places.. but what bugged me is when I'd miss someone had robes because they weren't listed with their other robes but with their quidditch supplies.. or something like that LOL All the lists aren't the same which is annoying lol And now that we have the anchors I don't see why there can't be added space or some kind of dividers or something to help it be easier to read.. no more need for scrolling XD

As far as this poll and such goes.. I think quidditch robs could be considered equpiment because you can't play on your house team without robes (so to speak lol) Plus I think if they were listed with the quidditch equipment then it might be easier for those clubs/communities where robes are extra points because they wouldn't have to take the time (milliseconds) to distinguish between robes and quidditch robes XD but I'm not sure how the current quidditch mods will say.. although I know that I never really went by what the members told me.. it was always easier to just look at their lists XD

I think last term I suggested that there be a link on the items pages to either the main page (with all the letters) or for every letter. It would make it easier for those mods who are checking just a bunch of usernames without going to each individual link they provide. the internal navigation so to speak. or at least a link back to hh_diagon would help.

I'd really like it to be according to the shop because that way looking at the owned items list is also a quick way to see what shop stocks what things without having to load up all the shops in different tabs. You could also just go through, update the roster for a certain shop, add it all in, then go on to the next shop, which I think would make updating easier on you as well. Also, there are some items whose categorization might be a little dicey, so this way, the categories are all very neat and defined.

I think it'd be easier by shop as I remember where I bought things from...

I think it would be incredibly difficult to do it by club/comm for extra points, especially when some of the items don't earn extra points at all. I have all the books, so you'd have to break the books down by club rather than just have 1-59. I think it would be neater and easier for everyone to group by shop. Grouping by type might be a little frustrating because you might want to be able to tell someone where you bought your Solid Gold Gobstones but can't remember because they're just listed under "Games" or something.

I think that dividing it by club/comm is a neat idea but since some items earn points for more than one club or comm, it could lead to needing duplicated entries. I think that by shop is probably best, but the important thing is just making sure they are consistently done from one person to the next. I know when I was diagon mod, this was one of the areas where a lot of feedback came when I was looking at ways to make Diagon more user-friendly, but I didn't have time to do much with it before I had to leave for a while. Things just aren't in the same place on everyone's lists, as [livejournal.com profile] heartsablaze has pointed out so it makes it so leaders/mods have to read through everyone's entire items owned list to make sure they don't miss anything since they can't rely on something always being in the "Clothes" line, etc.

By shop would be easiest for me, because I wouldn't be sure what type of item some things were, so I'd end up having to read the whole list anyway. And by comm would be frustrating, since some things work for multiple comms. It would be most helpful for the Flourish books to be in order and include the whole range. Ex., if mine says 21-25, 11, 26-27, 8 (not really, but I know I have some consecutive numbers listed separately there), then change to 8, 11, 21-27. I know you're probably changing that anyway, but that's the only thing that really bugs me about how they're listed now.

I favour by shop as well. Like what's already been said, it's easier to check if I've already bought something.
