Concering Sig Tags
Apr. 2nd, 2005 01:17 pmHello, students of
hogwartsishome!
Some of you might remember this entry about sig tags. If you don't or haven't read it yet, I'd like to ask you to do that now. Thanks :)
Second, I went through the application in
platform_934. There are several people whose sig tags are still too big (KB-wise).
I would like to ask:
saffic_saffric
anodein82
stagequeen84
kraftyhorse
nikkied_05
maladroitkat and
esso
to please decrease the kb-size of their sig-tags. If you have problems with that, you are very welcome to comment here; I'll gladly assist you :)
Furthermore I would like to ask
tinkertytonk
to resize her sig-tag from 300x190 to 300x170.
Thank you all in advance!

that is the size of my ID. I see now that I'm over 40k, but I'm not sure how to fix that part. If someone could explain how to fix it, I'd really appreciate it.

Date: 2005-04-02 02:26 pm (UTC)If you'd rather like to do it on your own, simply open Photoshop (or any other graphic-program) and save your sig tag as a gif-file.

Date: 2005-04-02 01:49 pm (UTC)I think 40kb is excessively small. I can't make mine that small and still be legible.
I don't want one that just says my name - if that's all I wanted I'd just write my name...
I want the club, wand and animagus info there. That's my HIH personality and I'm proud of it.
Who decided on the kb size limits and is there any chance we can have a rethink?

Date: 2005-04-02 02:22 pm (UTC)it's now 36,5 KB
Can you see any difference to your original sig-tag?
40KB is more than enough for a sig tag if saved as a gif-file.

I have saved the image and will upload it to my photobucket account.

Date: 2005-04-02 11:13 pm (UTC)And, no problem at all :D I'm glad I could help!
And I just realized, I sounded kinda rude in my comment; that was only because I was a little stressed and had no time for a long comment :) <- just to avoid misunderstandings

Date: 2005-04-02 06:00 pm (UTC)I'm pretty much self taught in photoshop, and I learn something new everytime I play with it, and I didn't know saving it as a gif would be any smaller than "Save for Web" which is what I usually do. Good tip, though, thanks!
Until then, I'm just signing with my name. :)

Date: 2005-04-03 08:46 pm (UTC)Do you have a .jpg, .png or .psd version of the sig tag?

Date: 2005-04-03 08:48 pm (UTC)Either remove the animation or cut down the px size, then it should work.
