Concering Sig Tags

Hello, students of hogwartsishome!


Some of you might remember this entry about sig tags. If you don't or haven't read it yet, I'd like to ask you to do that now. Thanks :)




Second, I went through the application in platform_934. There are several people whose sig tags are still too big (KB-wise).

I would like to ask:


saffic_saffric
anodein82
stagequeen84
kraftyhorse
nikkied_05
maladroitkat and
esso

to please decrease the kb-size of their sig-tags. If you have problems with that, you are very welcome to comment here; I'll gladly assist you :)



Furthermore I would like to ask

tinkertytonk

to resize her sig-tag from 300x190 to 300x170.

My apologies, I thought my ID was within the correct size limit.

that is the size of my ID. I see now that I'm over 40k, but I'm not sure how to fix that part. If someone could explain how to fix it, I'd really appreciate it.

Just post your sig tag in a comment to this thread or send it to me via email: papercutbreath@gmail.com, and I'll fix it for you :)

If you'd rather like to do it on your own, simply open Photoshop (or any other graphic-program) and save your sig tag as a gif-file.

Firstly I want to apologise - I didn't reralise mine was the wron kb size and I wouldn't have posted it if I'd known.

I think 40kb is excessively small. I can't make mine that small and still be legible.
I don't want one that just says my name - if that's all I wanted I'd just write my name...
I want the club, wand and animagus info there. That's my HIH personality and I'm proud of it.

Who decided on the kb size limits and is there any chance we can have a rethink?

40KB is more than enough for a sig tag if saved as a gif-file.

Wow. Thank you. I didn't know that gif files were smaller. I was under the impression that jpegs were the smallest file size for images.

No, gif is the smallest file type :) Not all graphics work well with gif though...

That's okay I didn't think you were - I try not to take things that way on ther innernets - unless people are actually saying 'OMG you stupid effing moron' it's usually pretty safe to say that they don't mean to be rude.

I'll fix it once I get back to my computer with photoshop. Also, I'm in the midst of creating a different one since somethings have changed. The new one is already smaller (pixel wise) so the kb should decrease too.

I'm pretty much self taught in photoshop, and I learn something new everytime I play with it, and I didn't know saving it as a gif would be any smaller than "Save for Web" which is what I usually do. Good tip, though, thanks!

No, wait. I didn't notice it was animated. The animation causes the sig tag to be bigger than it should be at this size as a .gif.
Either remove the animation or cut down the px size, then it should work.

Okay, while discussing on the other post (sorry again for that) I fumbled around with Photoshop and ImageReady... This is the best I can do, but I'm not sure, if I still like the animated one, since the lines are breaking up with sizereduction... Have a look and tell me, what you think, please...
