This is the first Order sponsored activity of the term, I will try to do one a month.

Everyone has different reason why they joined Hogwarts is Home. Some are here to make friends, talk about Harry Potter, activies and many other reasons.

My question to you is what does Hogwarts is Home mean to you? You can answer this question anyway that you want. By making a graphic and/or writing. Hogwarts is Home is where I made a lot of friends and met others with many of the same interests that I have. I am so glad that I became a member here and enjoy meeting everyone here, even though I don't express it enough.

i've already met a few new friends (and i wrote my application just a month ago) through HiH and that's pretty awesome. i love reading through applications and sorting new people; it's a great way to spend spare time.

i love that there are so many activities and the fact that there are so many people all over the world that share some of my interests.

Hogwarts is Home means Friends, Unity, and Fun. I've made lots of friends in my house and I hope to make more. I've become very close with members of my house, and I have a real connection to my house. I like the unity events because it lets me get to know about other houses and the members in those houses. I like all the different clubs and activities that go on, and exploring different sides of things. All of this let HP and Hogwarts become real and something that I could partake in while being myself.

On the one hand, I've made a lot of friends, but really, HiH has fulfilled that part of me that likes to be busy all the time, and likes deadlines and even-- yes-- stress. Since I've left grad school my life has been too laid back and HiH means having to keep track of things, which is like a little rat wheel for that part of my brain trained to keep track of things after so many years of school. I don't have notebooks like all those 'Claws because I keep everything in my head, and unless I'm holding a lot up there, I feel like I'm forgetting important things, so my life feels richer with the deadlines in it.

I honestly don't enjoy participating as much as I enjoy running things and posting things, and I really do love the sense of authority that comes with that. When people take what I say as though I know what's going on (and I really do try to know what's going on, so that I wouldn't be misleading people), that's when I feel like I have the most purpose.

And people think I'm a Ravendor ;)

It means connecting with other Harry Potter fans, which is one of my favorite things. Harry Potter has brought me to many of the friends I have today and it has a great impact on my life. I love the way HP can bring so many people together, it's just such an awesome fandom and I'm so glad to be a part of it.

HiH is also made of awesome and therefore decreases WorldSuck significantly. Word to the NerdFighters!

HiH fulfills the OCD competitive part of my brain that wants to WIN! I like the constant inflow of discussion comments, flourish orders and new activities, and get a little sad when I have no comment notifications in my inbox. I like the involvement of helping run things, but I prefer the slightly less hectic commitment of the slower paced positions, where I don't feel like I'm letting people down if I fall behind a bit.

Hogwarts is Home is just a community I am really happy to be a part of, firstly and simply because it is such a welcoming community full of supportive and fun people. I love that we can get into major discussions and not rip another’s heads off. That we can have a on going competition, being the house cup, and still laugh and joke with each other and not let that stop us from talking with others in the various houses. I’ve made a few friends here and spoken to many I just love that there are so many here where we can share and discussion one of our favourite fandoms. We can all talk with one another and that is a really good thing. This community is just wonderful and that should mean a lot to anyone.

Hogwarts is Home is the fuel for my procrastination bug. It gives me something to do that isn't what I'm supposed to be doing.

It also allows me to indulge in my greatest passion: talking nonstop. Here there are people to talk to, people to listen, and since I got Angie involved, I can talk to my friends about it as well.

I've read some of the answers, and a lot of people have said friends...but I can't. Because HiH isn't about friends for me, it is about drama. Do you guys know the drama you generate? Good drama, mostly, but a little bad drama too. I like it. Keep it up. ;]

It's more of a place rooted in reality, but has so many fantasy elements woven throughout that it's a seamless combination.

It really allows me a way to distance myself from myself, in a sense. XD

When I first joined HiH, it was all about the books for me. I'm a huge book nerd, and most of the people I know in RL don't share the same enthusiasm for Harry Potter, and other books of the sort. It was refreshing to me to be able to talk about my love for the books and movies, and basically be given the rights to act out my inner fangirl, and have other people understand me.

It wasn't until a little bit later that I made some really FANTASTIC friends, in and outside of my house, that I would have never met without HiH. (You guys know who you are! ) =D

One of the best parts of HiH, is that there is always something going on, or something to do! Between the club activities, writing fanfiction, discussions, and working on my poor graphics skills, it's hard to be bored around here!

Hogwarts is Home, to me, is a place to make friends. <3 I love the social aspect of it most of all. (: It's true that I'm REALLY enjoying my new mod position (Voting Mod = love, srsly), but I think the main reason I'm here is because I enjoy being surrounded by like minded people into the same fandom(s) as me. ^_^ There's a sense of kinship here, and honestly, there is just no better sorting community out there. :D I can pretty much speak from experience on that one!

Hogwarts is Home has been an excellent way for me to be involved in the HP fandom and also, since I joined right around the time I got back into LJ after being away for over a year, it was a great way to get back into that, too. Most of my former LJ friends had moved on when I came back so HiH gave me a reason to be on and a way to connect with new friends.

Also, I enjoy the activities but I also enjoy organizing and planning things, so serving as a Club Leader and as a Mod have provided (although it might not look like it from the outside) great relaxation for me by being able to do things I enjoy outside of work where it's mostly for fun and is low-stress.

Yes, HiH is many things and I'm glad I am here.

HogwartsisHome has come to mean a lot to me. I was sorted almost two years ago, Feb 12, 2007 and it honestly doesn't seem like I've been involved that. My oldest daughter is a Gryff Lion, though on semi-hiatus now, and got me to sort. She told me when I was filling out my application - you'll be Hufflepuff without a doubt - and she was right. I have made so many friends here and some of them I consider my good friends and I hope to meet all kinds of new friends again. I've been from St Mungos Mod to Order Mod to Text Contest Leader, from Charms club Leader to Restricted Section Leader to a main Mod along side the wonderful Sas. I have loved every minute it, okay well not the drama part, but most part. I spend a lot of time in HiHland and really do enjoy everything about it.

HiH is all about escapism. I think there's a significant portion of Potter fans who have had a subtle (or not so subtle) inner yearning for that owl-delivered letter ever since they started reading the books, and sorting communities like HiH help fill that void. We can be prefects or professors, earn our houses points, make friends inside our common rooms and out. The thing that really makes HiH special, to me, is the way it is designed to be so open and inclusive, encouraging everyone, even the icklest of firsties, to participate, share ideas, speak up. Some other sorting comms seem to be all about the sorting and then the fun fizzles once you're in, but at HiH the sorting is just the first baby step in your online adventure. ;D /CHEESE

I'm going to steal some of eowyn_rain's comments and say that HiH is, for me, a place where I can come to indulge in my Potter love. There aren't a lot of people around me that love the books as much as I do, and it gets quite boring when no-one else is willing to engage in a discussion of it with me.

However, I also love the drama (of the good kind - absolutelybatty, I totally went there! ;)), the competition, the discussion, the feeling like you're a part of something more fun and interesting than real life (because sometimes real life is a bloody DRAG), and the people I met through the comm. I've made a few really awesome friends through this community, and I wouldn't trade it for anything... except maybe a stronger economy. ;) (KIDDING.)

Hogwarts is Home means meeting new people and I get to practice Psychology when I sort people. Although I think HiH is highlighting my brains selective memory recall. For example this week I forgot to go to my University for enrollment. Oops! BUT I remembered to come to HiH to sort people. In fact I make sure to get here in time to read all the new applications. I think this means my priorities are somewhat screwy. I can't help it! HiH is fun and addictive and much more entertaining than standing in lines waiting for people to sign things.

Also it's just great to have a place that is completely Pottercentric to hang around in.
