[Note: please finish off the Mad Lib so I can post the hilarity! It's already making me giggle.]
Do you know what your MBTI type is? If not, you can take a test to find out here. How about your Enneagram number? If not, take this quiz.
Then look up the traits for each type, come back here, and tell us which you think most describe you. This is like scientific Sorting, and I loves it. See what you have in common with other people, too!

sorting
Date: 2008-11-02 07:33 am (UTC)then for enneagram my top score was tied for the peacemaker / the motivator and then my number two is the generalist and three is the helper
ENFPs are basically happy people. They may become unhappy when they are confined to strict schedules or mundane tasks (I think the happy part fits with Hufflepuff but then since they are hard working I see some problems there). An ENFP may be quite manipulative - and very good it. The gift of gab which they are blessed with makes it naturally easy for them to get what they want (This reminds me of Slytherin, granted not all of them are bad but they have the potential\drive to do it if that makes sense). ENFPs sometimes make serious errors in judgment. the ENFP & ESFP are driven by an overwhelming desire for attention and to be liked. The ENFP is not naturally rational and objective in his/her outlook so genereally the ENTP calculates and plots to get what he/she wants, the ENFP acts on desire, impulse and gut feeling. They have an amazing ability to intuitively perceive the truth about a person or situation, but when they apply judgment to their perception, they may jump to the wrong conclusions (I would say this is Hufflepuff again but they strike me as the type to think through things rather than act right off the bat). When they are in love, ENFPs may either overcommit and ignore any unpleasant yet true facts; or they may undercommit, believing that there may be a better love "just around the corner." Therefore, ENFPs may be seen as fickle in their relationships as they search for the "right one." (That reminds me of Pansy on the overcommitting and Draco on the undercommitting).

Date: 2008-11-02 11:11 am (UTC)Enneagram: 7: The Enthusiast The embracing ideal-seeker
I prefer the tie to 2-5 myself, but the result is actually 7 (did it twice, heh) so I guess that's okay too. I'm a generalist and I dabble in a bit of everything, and I am enthusiastic. At best, 7s exude a youthful spirit, viewing the world as a giant playground, but at worst, they may become childish with their need for instant gratification.
Too true!
Re: Crap, no.
Date: 2008-11-02 06:15 pm (UTC)Hee, 7 is one of my wings, just a few points lower than 3, 5, and 6 (which are most often tied when I'm feeling calm). "Dabbling in a bit of everything" is sort of like what I do -- I like to have multiple things going at once, but I usually put enormous amounts of effort into everything. (It gets tiring.)

I don't particularly like being a leader but I seem to fall into the position often. I am very rigid when it comes to rules...and anyone who has experienced me as a mod in a community will know that. I'm rather uncompromising; it takes a fight to get me to give in.

This is really accurate
Date: 2008-11-02 01:36 pm (UTC)Asserters are direct, self-reliant, self-confident, and protective.
How to Get Along with Me
Stand up for yourself... and me.
Be confident, strong, and direct.
Don't gossip about me or betray my trust.
Be vulnerable and share your feelings. See and acknowledge my tender, vulnerable side.
Give me space to be alone.
Acknowledge the contributions I make, but don't flatter me.
I often speak in an assertive way. Don't automatically assume it's a personal attack.
When I scream, curse, and stomp around, try to remember that's just the way I am.
What I Like About Being a Eight
being independent and self-reliant
being able to take charge and meet challenges head on
being courageous, straightforward, and honest
getting all the enjoyment I can out of life
supporting, empowering, and protecting those close to me
upholding just causes
What's Hard About Being a Eight
overwhelming people with my bluntness; scaring them away when I don't intend to
being restless and impatient with others' incompetence
sticking my neck out for people and receiving no appreciation for it
never forgetting injuries or injustices
putting too much pressure on myself
getting high blood pressure when people don't obey the rules or when things don't go right
Eights as Children Often
are independent; have an inner strength and a fighting spirit
are sometimes loners
seize control so they won't be controlled
fugure out others' weaknesses
attack verbally or physically when provoked
take charge in the family because they perceive themselves as the strongest, or grow up in difficult or abusive surroundings
Eights as Parents
are often loyal, caring, involved, and devoted
are sometimes overprotective
can be demanding, controlling, and rigid

That sounds a lot like me, actually, even though 8 has never been one of my strongest wings. XD

Date: 2008-11-02 01:59 pm (UTC)On the Ennegram, I'm a 2 with strong 1 and 3 wings, so people who know me from school almost never get my number correct, as they see the wings instead of how I am when I'm just me. And if you saw me at school, you'd probably assume that I'm an ENFJ, because I'm out-going and organized, but that's because most people incorrectly assume that "out-going" and "extroverted" are the same thing. Just because I can be friendly and welcoming doesn't mean that it doesn't suck the life out of me! What people don't see is that I then hibernate for days.

Date: 2008-11-02 06:07 pm (UTC)YES. I have this problem too. I can be very outgoing (although not so much lately, 2008 has made me curl up in my hermit crab shell most of the time) but I'm definitely an introvert, because the way I react to stress and unhappiness is to withdraw and take time to myself to think about it. An extrovert would rather be around people, probably go to a party, to get out of their head. Which I've been guilty of doing sometimes, since it's the preferred method of a few friends of mine, but it never really helps me much. >.<

Date: 2008-11-02 04:42 pm (UTC)This description fits me and my quirks quite well:
"INFPs never seem to lose their sense of wonder... It's as though they live at the edge of a looking-glass world where mundane objects come to life... switching from reality to fantasy and back again... INFPs have the ability to see good in almost anyone or anything... Their extreme depth of feeling is often hidden... until circumstances evoke an impassioned response... INFPs struggle with... duty for the greater cause... the inner conflict as not good versus bad, but on a grand scale, Good vs. Evil... The INFP believes that good ultimately triumphs.

I'm really scattered on the Enneagram numbers. I scored highest as 2 - The Helper, but got only one point less for 4, 5, 7, and 9. So I'm primarily a Helper, and secondarily an Artist/Romantic Thinker Generalist/Enthusiast Peacemaker. Seems about right.

Date: 2008-11-02 06:34 pm (UTC)I like type 5, although I don't think I'd like it much if I was only a type 5. Having other wings makes more of a balance -- the 3 drives me to come out of my shell and accomplish something, and 6 makes me actually question rather than just observe. :)
