OMG! Who's excited for Halloween??

THIS GUY!

And me. :) I know we talked a lot about Halloween plans at Hogsmeade, but I'm curious to hear about it some more. :D Feel free to answer any or all of my queries. :)

* What are you going to be? and/or What have you been in the past?
* Are you going out or to a party?
* Do you have work plans as well as evening plans?
* What candy are you looking forward to gorging on the most?
* Do you have any traditional goodies that you make? Care to share the recipe? :)

I'm not really going to do anything on Halloween. Probably update some fics.

I'm baking chocolate chip cookies on Saturday if that counts.

I write for several fandoms.

Right now I have a 31 chapter Jericho fic, a Supernatural one-shot at the beta, a How I Met Your Mother one-shot at a different beta, a HIMYM fic that I just started writing, and a Drake and Josh one-shot.

Plus, I have to write an iCarly fic for a fic exchange.

No, I'm not doing NaNo. I might do it next year, though.

I'm just a first year college student with a lot to do. (Multiple fanfics, not that much homework though.)

You should post pictures of your group costume, by the way!

I'm not going to be anything this Halloween because of a lack of interest and that no one is really doing anything big/I DON'T HAVE MONEY :(

My neighborhood back home is really good at giving out the BEST candy (it should with the vast expanse of well manicured lawns) and so I'm hoping for some kind of left overs from my brother and sister's pile. My brother doesn't like chocolate candy bar types and my sister is picky about the fruity candies. Mwahahahaha.

This year I'm going as Sarah Palin... cause it's a hoot.

I have been Hermione, and a few years ago I was River Tam and my friend was Kaylee Frye:

And last year, my dog and I were Snow White and The Wicked Queen, respectively.

I am super excited for candy corn!!!!

That is an awesome "Serenity" pairing for costumes! Are you at a convention or is that just a big Halloween party in hotel or something.

And your costume last year with your Dog as "Snow White and The Wicked Queen"...PRICELESS!

...wait, that's a REAL cat, right?

Hanging out with friends on Halloween night. Not staying up too late because the next day I'm attending a wedding.

Personally, I'm a sucker for chocolate and peanut butter. I gorge myself on peanut butter cups all the time.

I once ate seven peanut butter cups in one day.

Oh yeah. I went for two years in a country that didn't have them. (In hindsight, they probably would've melted.) And they are sooooo delicious.

I...don't think so? (If I ever had a Halloween-themed wedding, I know my parents would kill me.)

I'm going to hang out at my house, alone for most of the night, possibly parading my cat around (she's a black cat). Until I have a few friends coming over at 10 and we're going to watch some Stephen Moffat episodes of Doctor Who (you know, the scary episodes).

I think I might make fudge too.

That cat is too cute! I love Halloween and all the aesthetics that surround the holiday and the season.

My friends and I are going as the characters from Clue and I'm going to be Mrs. Peacock. We're having a party at a friend's house on Friday and I'm excited, should be fun ;)

Last year I was Luna but I have to admit, I didn't put that much effort into the costume. This year will definitely be better!

Some of my friends and I already got a jump start on the Halloween spirit last Friday. We watched Simpsons Halloween episodes, Clue and Nightmare Before Christmas while carving pumpkins and chowing down on homemade pumpkin pasties and butterbeer. :D I made the pasties and butterbeer around Halloween time last year too and I think it's going to be a new tradition.

(If anyone's interested in my recipes, just let me know.)

I LOVE the idea you are going as Mrs. Peacock. I actually probably still have this awesome vintage 1960's dress (I don't know your size and of course it is too late to send it to you now, I certainly can't wear it any more as the last time I wore it the Pyramids were still being built) that is peacock blue-green and actually has beaded peacock feathers all over it (hand-beaded...those were the days!). That would be perfect for that costume!

And I watched "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (not the new version, but the older DVD) last weekend too! I love that movie! I'm going to watch "Sleepy Hollow" with Johnny Depp later this weekend to keep the mood going, even after Halloween itself. Those really are two of my favorite Halloween movies (I'm not into gore fests).

I think your pumpkin pasties and butterbeer are an AWESOME tradtition!

Ooo that dress does sound like it would be perfect! I actually found a decent dress at Savers. It's blue and has over-the-top beading and such... and then I bought bought peacock feathers to put in my hair :)

Same here..! Although the media and the shops are trying to bring this tradition to us so they can make more money. They have been trying for some years now, and never really succeded just yet. But the candy the import is delicious.

I'm working on Halloween. D: Otherwise, I'd be going as Hannah Montana - The Breakdown Years. I was thinking blonde wig with awesome dark roots, a cigarette in one hand, martini glass in the other, headset microphone on, messed up makeup, slightly too tight clothes....

Best Halloween costume idea I've had in ages and I have to work. BAH. :(

Gods Girl...that is freakin' HILARIOUS! I love that idea for a costume, and although I don't like her that much as a performer, I certainly hope she avoids the "breakdown" years for her sake.

Gods girl, I love all the Potterverse dressed up cat photos you find (I do feel sorry for the cats though, although this one seems OK with it...I never had a cat that liked anything put on it!)!

1) This year we have no Halloween parties or anything this year (this is the first year or not special events for us...no circles beyond our own private Samhain circle, no parties not even this Mystery Dinner thing that we did in 2005 where we dressed up as a gun moll and her gangster from the 1920's...boo hoo that was FUN!).

Still, we have to answer the door for the kids in the neighborhood and although we don't decorate much on the outdoors of our House, we always dress up to answer the door because the neighborhood kids (we don't have that many) expect it since we've been doing it since we moved except for the one year we were in Las Vegas.

I just found out our local Trick or Treat night might be Thursday night instead of Friday because people are worried about adults and older teens drinking and driving after Halloween parties (personally, I normally think that is BOGUS as the kids are all off the streets by 8 PM now...yes 8 PM! This is the most frightening thing I've heard this year about Halloween! They lose a WHOLE HOUR of Trick or Treating GOODNESS and who is driving home from a Halloween party at 8 PM at night except for kids that aren't even out of elementary school yet!).

Originally we were going to dress up and answer the door on Friday night and then watch the 8 Hour "Ghost Hunters" live event on Sci-Fi Channel (I LOVE that show!), but now it looks like we'll be doing it tomorrow night instead. I'll still be home watching "Ghost Hunters" Live at 9 PM our time though and I intend to be part of the Halloween House Unity Slumber Party at least during the day.

As to dressing up: I've got to go find our costumes...I think the easiest (since I won't have to iron them) would be our period Pirate costumes. We wore them last year at a big Halloween party and I had to get them cleaned because someone was joking around and spilled drinks on both of us. Thus they are in good shape whereas our witch in black hanging out with Death are packed away and will have to be ironed and I don't have time.

I work from home so no work celebrations. Eric isn't allowed to dress up in costume at our main contract because he works in a hospital and a few years ago they made rules that there would be no costumes for some reason (I don't know why they did it for non-medical staff...probably just to make it fair).

Will be making a seperate post about foods/treats/etc.

Happy Halloweenie!
