A new term is apon us, Term XII, if I am correct, I am sorry if I'm mistaken. Let's start this new term off right and get to meet our fellow HIHers. I would like to start this term off with a friending meme for everyone to take part.

Before, I put up the survey for you to fill out, I would like to say a few things.

What would you like to accomplish this term? (can be school, HIH and/or life in general) I would liek to be more active in HIH. Make more friends. Read more.
Are you a morning, afternoon, or a night person? I think I am a more of an afternoon person, I am at my peak between 3 and 8.
What animal do you feel that you are the most like? (sorry, if I didn't phrase this question right) I think I am more of a cat, I like to observe things. Don't really like to say much and do things when I feel like it. I am my own boss.
What is your favorite part of being a member of your house? The peeople are cool, they are really nice. Easy to talk to and are good people to hang out with.

What would you like to accomplish this term? (can be school, HIH and/or life in general) Actually go to class. Every day. (Or almost.) And, of course, lead Slytherin to victory.
Are you a morning, afternoon, or a night person? Evening/night, definitely.
What animal do you feel that you are the most like? (sorry, if I didn't phrase this question right) A ferret. Curious to its own detriment. Or a wolf, of the "umm, you hunt over there, I'll hunt over there, and we can share a den if we get lonely" variety.
What is your favorite part of being a member of your house? Simply being in the most perfect, amazing house possible. Club Nights are also a perk.
Favorite TV shows/Movies: Jurassic Paaaaark, Supernatural, House MD. Tons more, but those are my most active loves.
Recommend a good book? The Temeraire series by Naomi Novik. I know I've recced it before, stfu. I will keep reccing it until you read it. >C

My aunt pushed me and my sister off a boat off the coast of Australia when I was like 12 into a whole mess o' seaweed and then pulled the ladder up to force us to swim to shore, because she is TOTALLY EVIL OMFG, and I swam into a jellyfish and was utterly traumatized for life. So never ask me to go to the beach with you. :(

I am sitting in the lounge eating lunch and listen to a bunch of freshlaw be hilarious as they "discover" the cafes ACROSS THE STREET and DOWNSTAIRS, and speculate over what "types" of students will "burn out" first. Movies: YES PLEASE! I'm a movie whore and I'm proud of it, I have approx 250 dvd's in my collection and it's constantly growing. And yes I have them in alphabetical order and even have a list made up in word. I know I'm a geek, but I love me some movies.
Recommend a good book?The Alex Cross series by James Patterson. I'm also a book whore sometimes I like most books and in very different genres.

What would you like to accomplish this term? (can be school, HIH and/or life in general) Uhm, not phail as prefect *anxiety*, get a job, get into college, maybe finish a composition? Lots of stuff...I'm a very goal-oriented person, I just...never complete my goals. xD
Are you a morning, afternoon, or a night person? Morning, pretty much...definitely not night. I'd say later morning and earlier evening.
What animal do you feel that you are the most like? (sorry, if I didn't phrase this question right) My animagus form is a Nightingale, which I can definitiely relate to...sometimes I'd say I'm like my bunny - lazy and boring but still quirky...
What is your favorite part of being a member of your house? NERDS. All of them. and I love it.
Favorite TV shows/Movies: The Daily Show/The Colbert Report are my staples...also lots of Food Network stuffs: Good Eats, Iron Chef (both of them), that kinda stuff. Trying to get into House, but too cheap/lazy to buy DVDs since I imagine I'll either love or hate the show...so sort of randomly absorbing it via youtube clips and stuff ^^; oh, I love Monk, too. Are you a morning, afternoon, or a night person? I love that the afternoon option is here. Yup, that's me. Grumpy in the morning, tired at night. Afternoon is as good as it gets.
What animal do you feel that you are the most like? (sorry, if I didn't phrase this question right) I've always thought I'm most like a cat. Most of the time, I like doing my own thing. I'm totally lazy. I love lying in the sun or near heater vents. And sometimes, for no apparent reason, I become desperate to be loved.
What is your favorite part of being a member of your house? I love that we all understand each other and don't have to tone down the snark.
Favorite TV shows/Movies: House, The Office (US), Star Trek (any except Enterprise), Sopranos, The Godfather, Princess Bride, Dracula...and lots of others that just aren't coming to mind.
Recommend a good book? Let me think of one I haven't recommended before...oh! Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes! It's a fifth-grade book, so it's really easy to get through. It's about the beginnings of the American Revolution, and it rocks.

What is your favorite part of being a member of your house? The people are amazing. Like seriously. And they get sarcasm, my personal heaven.

What would you like to accomplish this term? (can be school, HIH and/or life in general) I want to ace my college courses and not die of sickness. Still being a part of online communities would be really nice too, but at the moment I can't make it my first priority. :(
Are you a morning, afternoon, or a night person? I used to be night, but I don't actually enjoy staying up late anymore (although I still do). I think I'm most happy and energetic in the afternoons.
What animal do you feel that you are the most like? (sorry, if I didn't phrase this question right) Probably a monkey. Fairly high energy compared to most, even when I feel exhausted; excellent with multitasking (the analogy here is hands and tail...); intelligent and resourceful. They also seem like solo creatures for the most part despite being in large communities... or maybe "solo" isn't the right word, but independent in their own right and able to act as an individual or in a group.
What is your favorite part of being a member of your house? People understand my weird trains of thought and enjoy long comment conversations! :D
Favorite TV shows/Movies: My favorite TV show is by FAR Supernatural, though The Office, Dr. Who, House M.D., and a few others have been entertaining enough to watch all the way through. Movies... well, that's pretty much a three way tie between Fight Club, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and V for Vendetta.

Are you a morning, afternoon, or a night person? I tend to be a night person, but sometimes my style in that are gets cramped by my 8:30-5:00 office hours.
What animal do you feel that you are the most like? (sorry, if I didn't phrase this question right) I'm not sure how to explain it, but I think I most identify with cats (and want one so badly, but am not allowed in my current apartment). I identify with them because I see myself as someone who is fairly curious clever, sometimes hard to please, skeptical of others at times, willing to commit myself fully to the things that matter, and able to find quick ways out of a jam. I'm also someone who, if I get close to you, will be intensely loyal and build a strong connection, but it might be hard to initially get to that point. For some reason, these things remind me of many of the cats with whom I've interacted.
What is your favorite part of being a member of your house? Everyone is so incredibly fun! We have some crazy conversations and do some crazy things. Everyone is very welcoming and accepting and generally just good people!
Favorite TV shows/Movies: TV: The Cho Show, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Heroes, Project Runway, Psych, Top Chef, Torchwood

Movies: I always struggle listing out favorite movies because I love so many of them. I currently own over 250 movies on DVD and am always expanding my collection. Generally, I enjoy independent films (I think because I think they are best able to capture the story they're trying to convey without necessarily having the influence of mainstream Hollywood getting in the way of the final product), but also comedies, dramas, musicals, thrillers, suspense, fantasy, and science fiction (somewhat). I don't always JUST stick to these, though, they're just my general faves.
Recommend a good book? Hmm...I haven't had time to read anything new in a while, although I have a stack of books waiting for me to dive in. I guess I would recommend "A Separate Peace" to anyone who has never read it before. I first read it in high school and have read it again a few times since then (and own the movie, although the book is better). I think it is a title that definitely speaks to the human experience (or at least I know mine) when it comes to friendships and relationships. I think we all can agree that we have or have had a friend with whom we felt we were in competition. I know I have some friendships that started based on that idea. There have been times when we have all been envious of a friend, have battled with not feeling adequate, have had to deal with issues related to loyalty to our friends, and have felt guilty about things that we have done to others in a flash without really thinking. The exploration of this type of a friendship between two prep school students really is telling and powerful, in my opinion.
List one random/interesting fact about yourself. Today is almost exactly the end of the first two months I've lived anywhere other than North Dakota, where I grew up and went to college and grad school.
Your Friending Policies: My journal is friends only, but I'll friend pretty much anyone. Just comment in my journal letting me know where you know me from and we're good to go. I try to read my f-list and comment when I can (not as much lately as usual, but I'm getting back into the swing of things) and always appreciate comments from others, too. Most often I write about what's going on in life and with work, but also post about the movies and shows I see, restaurants I go to, trips I take, and other random things, too.
