What activities do you think we should do here to promote house unity? Keep in mind that these activities most likely wouldn't be done for points but to get to know each other better.

Talk about how we're not who we are... stick with me... it makes sense..... eventually.

We are separated into houses by our traits, but let's have a discussion about what traits we have that represent the other houses.

i.e. I'm a Hufflepuff, but I'm brave and I'm totally smart, and I love power or something like that...

Tweak it to where it makes sense to people other than me... but hey, it's a way for us to relate to each other and not be totally separated.

nominate people for silly made up awards, like what Rhinestone217 said. like the most Hufflepuff-y Gryffindor.

The most Slytherin like Hufflepuff. etc.

A stereotypical person-of-other-house has a problem, or two people from different houses, and how they would solve it. Questions like "How many Gryffindors would it take to screw in a lightbulb?" and have anyone from any house answer it.

I'd rather have something that isn't about the different houses at all. Maybe where two people (of different houses, of course) have to team up - but I've no specific ideas so far, sorry. :/

Perhaps have a community wide card or gift swap? I know houses have done that in the past. Pair someone up with another member and send them a card or a gift, it could even just be an online thing, or people could choose to use online gifts or real ones by mail. Maybe something a little similar to the Hogsmeade activity where you leave your name and house and people give you icons, poems, ficlets, etc.. You could make it more personal by pairing people up with someone from another house that isn't on their friends list, etc. I guess the concept is a rather large one that may take too long to sort out, not sure :P

I totally support the card-swap. I know houses have been doing similar activities in-house, but why not make it inter-house?! Everyone sends his/her card to someone from a different house...

This idea may be a bit labor-intensive, but how about a weekly discussion of our interests outside of Harry Potter, each week focusing on one interest? We could use certain popular TV shows or musicians, hobbies like knitting or gardening, etc. That way, we could see what we have in common with people from other houses.
