I've had a theory for a while... and now I read something on mugglenet.com that kinda confirms it for me. It's not huge, but it's something as to what may happen in the 6th book (which is rumored to be scheduled for this January *squee*. See the front page of http://www.mugglenet.com). Anyways, I've always thought that Narcissa Malfoy would play some sort of role in the books, but I wasn't quite sure as to what. But after Sirius went on vacation, I realized what it may be. Sirius was supposed to be the last remaining Black, right? Well... now that he's indisposed, who gets Grimmauld place? I doubt he had made up a will... it's not like he held a lot of value for his family herilooms and I don't think that he's the kind of person who would make up a will. And Dumbledore said that Kreacher saw Narcissa as the last Black he had any respect for, which says something to me. Just now I found this on mugglenet: "We will see more of Draco's mother, Narcissa Malfoy, now that Lucius is busy". This is based on a few online chats they have had with JK and have been announced as fact.

I believe that Narcissa will take over Grimmauld place and prove to be trouble for The Order. I think there may be more... but I just haven't gotten to that. I'm just all excited, I usually don't figure anything out like that :P Of course, this is just a theory, but still... XD

But then again, Narcissa is the youngest Black sister. You're forgetting about Andromeda and Bellatrix. :D

Well... Andromeda was burned off the tapestry remember? She married a Muggle, and Tonks is the daughter. I don't think that the house would see them as a member of the Black family. And Bellatrix is well... Bellatrix. She has to lay low unless she wants to be captured by aurors. I just saw Kreacher going to Narcissa instead of Andromeda or Bellatrix as a sign that Narcissa is really the last one to a certain degree.

On the other hand, if I recall correctly, (and currently my books are across town) wasn't SIrius similarly disowned by his mother? I could see a similar loophole (not keeping a will up to date, if one is kept at all) being how Sirius got the house at all, considering his mother was less than fond of him. Furthermore, should the property become contested, I could see Tonk's colleges in the Aurors (not to mention the Order) making sure she and her mother had a good lawyer to duke it out with Narcissa over who gets the house.

Yes, but Kreacher obeys him doesn't he? He doesn't obey Tonks. I guess I just see that as a sort of sign.

HBP's release date is coming in January, not the actual book. I wish it was the book... that'd be awesome... but you do have a good point about Narcissa

Ah, I get it now... well, one can dream :P But mugglenet said that this scenario happened with book 5, and that the 6th book can be hoped to be released in June? *ish hopeful*

hmm that's an excellent point. Although, why wouldn't they have taken it over before? Since Sirius was in Askaban/on the run? But that'd be an excellent plot detail.

That's what I was thinking... and the only thing that really kinda bothers me. But perhaps she didn't take it over because she didn't feel like she needed it? I mean, she married Lucius and got this huge mansion. She probably wouldn't care about a little place in the London ghetto. Now that her husband is in jail, Voldemort is back and everything... maybe she sees a need for it? There could be many reasons.

well how would it be possible for her to take it over since dumbledore put the Fiedilus (sp?) charm on it? Only he can allow people inside and I dont think Narcissia can take him on

If Voldy, the most powerful wizard (yeah..uh huh sure) is afraid of Dumbledore, do you think Narcissa would seriously take him on? That was a very good point. I felt the need to emphasize. :D
