Tomorrow is International Harry Potter day!

I thought you all might be interested in this. I just copied and pasted what was sent to me, so just know that the excessive use of exclamation marks are not mine.

Hi all you HP Fan-atics,

I'm so hoping this will take off - February 20th -
'Universal Harry Potter Day'. I
would love to see ALL Harry Potter people 'in-garb'
ALL DAY LONG, meeting and greeting each other
'everywhere'. Now - I know that some of you cannot
wear cloaks and capes to work (drat!!) - luckily, I
CAN and WILL !!!! BUT, you CAN wear SOMETHING HP so
that, when you pass another HP 'person', you will
recognize each other and greet each other. AND, the
Muggles will recognize that you, not only LOVE
everything HP, but are not ashamed to show it -
especially on this day !!!!

We of 'The Group That Shall Not Be Named' (NYC's
largest HP Meet up group) and friends
WILL be going to dinner that evening, but I would love
to see HP people all day long - in the streets,
boulevards, subways, elevators, highways and byways,
country roads, ocean beaches, dirt roads - wherever in
the world you live - showing your UNITY with
ALL-THINGS
Harry Potter !!!!!!!!!!!! And, first and foremost, a
celebration of the downfall of evil - in Harry's world
- and a plea for the downfall of evil in our world.

Anyone else gonna do something special? I'm working on getting friends to go do stuff with me dress in wizard robes, but they're feeling reluctant.

If you want you can send in pictures of your awesome HP themed outfit to the myspace page which is going to feature all of the pictures sent in of people enjoying the day.

I don't think there is a significance, not as far as I could find. I think they just picked that day. It doesn't bother me too much though since it sounds pretty fun no matter what day.

Well I will certainly be wearing my Slytherin Sweater and tie, I would go all out with the robes, but I think I would get way too many odd looks... I would do it if I could convince my roommates to do it also... oh windshifter and sambug8 where are you?

I've only got my slytherin shirt (how un-houseful!... bwahaha), but I will go around saying "Don't be sorry, my dear sir, for nothing could upset me today! Rejoice, for You-Know-Who is gone at last! Even muggles like you should be celebrating, this happy, happy day!" and giving people hugs. Just like That random guy in the first book that I always remember as Dedalus Diggle but which is probably not.

Eh? In-garb? There isn't a dress code at my school, but that might just be going too far. Haha. Besides... I can't go to Chem Lab dressed like a Wizard, can I? XD

Maybe not. But you could always draw a lightning bolt on your forehead with eyeliner or something. Then everyone who is into HP at your school will think you're incredibly cool. Or you know, not. Everyone will still think you're cool.

Oh, well. XD It's 2PM now here of Feb. 20, so I guess I'm too late. Besides, I don't have eyeliner in handy or sufficient bangs to cover it. :p

I'll try to find a Blue and Bronze ribbon-thingie to pin on myself to celebrate Ravenclaw. ;)

(If this coincided with Ash Wednesday, I would be a heretic, lol, with a Lightning Bolt instead of a Cross on my forehead. Lol.)
