Right, ready for some more random point earning opps???

1. I need about a LOT of volunteers to enter points and activities from last month and this into the new system. I'd rather have a few people who do a lot of work than a million people doing one. I'm going to need each of you to look after about 5-10 activities per person, activity and points submissions. I will need these done within the next few days. I'm offering 10 points/3 knuts per set completed. Please reply here if you're interested.

2. I need someone, preferably an official to create a guide to being an official concerned mostly with how to do things, approving members, changing settings, including html help. I'd like it to be quite comprehensive with screenshots. 40pts/15 knuts. This will be needed before midweek. Reply to this post if interested.

3. I need someone who knows, indepth, about the appeals process here at hih to write a guide. I just need a basic one, nothing too fancy. No screenshots needed :P. 20pts/10 knuts.

When submitting the top sorter points you need to select the names of the topsorters, please. And give each of them 15 knuts. Is that ok?

I don't know how basic you need it, so if you want it changed don't hesitate to poke me.


To appeal in hih_appeals the appealer needs to have participated in HiH and been a member of their house for at least a month. If they still want to switch houses after that period of time, they need to write an e-mail to the mod with the title "HiH Appeals Related". This e-mail should include an explanation for their appeal and a link to their sorting application. Once the mod can confirm that the appealer has tried their best to fit in their initial house, the appealer is added to the community. They fill out an appeals-application which is found on the profile page of hih_appeals and post it to the community. Additionally the 12 judges, 3 of each house, will interrogate them. At the end, the judges will decide which of the four houses the appealer should be re-sorted in. The prefects and officials are contacted if the applicant changes house, and the applicant joins (or stays in) the common room of the house they were re-sorted into.
The appeals process can only be effected once, so it is encouraged to put a lot of thought into the appeals-application.

Give me a poke if you think this should be included in the guide! I thought it would be better to leave out the addresses and things that are prone to change.)

Just, all the things an official might need to know LJ and HTML wise for running a community :D

Approving activities as well, maybe, although that's verging onto a guide for the new system, maybe stick to LJ for the min :)

Things to know on how to be an official

First thing is you will see your username as a mainainter and/or moderator of your community.

How to access your community settings:

On the main livejounal screen click on Manage Accounts

Then you will need to choose your community from a drop_down menu and then click Switch

You will then be working in your community's pages. To access community management click on Manage Communities.

How to update your User Info Page

Make sure you are on the Manage Communities Page and then click Info

Make sure you are on your community's page and not your own. Then scroll down.

You will change the community info just like you change your own under Bio.

When you are down scroll down and click Save Changes.

Hey Sas. I know you are busy with the new system.

But could you tally up the January knuts first? It's more than half way into February and I still haven't seen that post (unless I missed it).

I'm not tallying up the knuts, I've got people entering in the points/knuts to the new system from last month, once they've entered it, I click a button and we have the knuts.

I'd waste so much time tallying them when it could be spent getting this up and running before the end of feb.
