Am I right in guessing that if we put 'sort away' in the subject line of an entry, and also sign our entry with our name and house we get house points for entering and/or winning?

Basically, yes. You get the normal points for entering any contest, but if you win you get like double the points.

Could those maybe be put in the userinfo of hp_stillness? I read the rules three times before submitting this week (because I have a tendancy to do things wrong) but this is the first I've heard of those two things. I've just re-checked, and they're not anywhere on the userinfo page. It kind of sucks to hear "No points if you didn't follow the rules!" when the rules aren't listed anywhere.

Nope, because hp_stillness is not a subsidiary community of HiH. And anyone who joins the icontest there with the intention of earning points here must have read it on our own user info, which clearly does state:

hp_stillness - A Harry Potter icontest in which you may earn bonus points by submitting an entry with the subject line of "Sort Away!"

It's also in the FAQ. :)
