no vote-issues
Feb. 4th, 2005 11:35 pmHi, I'm not a very active member in this community, neither am I in
platform_934. This is due to a whole bunch of work I have going on right now, sorry. Anyways, this morning, I took the time again to look at an application, which has apparently been edited because the answers had been too short before (here's the link).
I totally understand why people said "No Vote" as long as the answers were so short. I don't have a problem with that, really. But I just don't understand why it is necessary that 17 people say basically all the same, "No Vote until you elaborate more". Don't you think she might have gotten the hint after the first two or three already? It's just not necessary, that's all I'm saying.

Date: 2005-02-04 11:02 pm (UTC)"The reason why there are 17 people saying that is because people get points for voting. Giving the vote of "no vote" still counts as a vote...and if the applicant happens to not edit the application...the No Vote votes are still tallied as people taking the time to actually vote. So yes...there will be a lot of No Vote comments....because of that reason."

Date: 2005-02-04 11:13 pm (UTC)I'd say, if the answers of an application are too short, but don't deserve a Muggle vote, there should really be NO vote al all. A moderator could then, let's say after 24 hours, post a comment to call for an edit... How about that?

Date: 2005-02-05 07:20 am (UTC)I'm not risking another lecture. I'll stick to No Vote.

Date: 2005-02-04 11:51 pm (UTC)Anyways, I put "No Vote" because I take the time to read the application, and don't want to leave without writing SOMETHING. And generally I remember to go back if I put "No Vote."
