Polyjuice Potion: HP Costumes

Hey guys! I started a thread like this in Ravenclaw as well but, I thought that it would be fun if all of the houses could join in.

For the release of DH I made it a point to dress up as a character. I didn't just throw on a HP t-shirt and my time turner. No, I went all out. And, I know that I'm not the only one. :D

So, I thought that we could all show off and oogle one another's pictures.




I (obviously) went as Nymphadora Tonks and, I worked on my costume for a month. I painted the shirt and measured, cut out and sewed every patch on my pants. It took a long time but it was totally worth it. Not just because I won a costume contest but… because it really made me feel like I was part of something special. Anyway, here I am…

thanks! it was the first thing i had ever knit! it was fun. i love it. i'm so ready to learn how to knit the newer style of their scarves

Sorry, but I totally had to barge in on the knitting thread. My first knitting project was a PoA scarf that I finished an hour before midnight to go see OotP. And Charmed Knits is the most awesome knitting book ever! :D

You look fabulous!!! Which release party did you attend? And did anyone attend near Cleveland?

I wish I could say that I had fun at mine, but I worked it (Borders). So, it was a little stressful - especially after working a 9 hour day at my regular job. Yes, for you, Harry, I worked from 9:30AM to 2:00AM!

We had some great costumes, though. My favorites were Draco/Pansy who were both girls and this mother and daughter who dressed as Molly and Ginny Weasely. My least favorites were the dementors because they tended to be unable to see well and stepped on things - including me. Apparently, dementors and open-toed shoes do not mix!

My friend and I just went as basic Gryffindors and Ravenclaws... I look utterly ridiculous. My tie is HUGE. XDDD


She is SO LUCKY I got her that Gryffindor sweater for her birthday. She looked so legit!

omg! Did you go to the Naperville Release party? if you did I think I saw you there! I know I saw that couple walking around. I loved their costumes. I didn't dress up at all. I just had my Snape: Friend or Foe? shirt on. If I could, I would have gone as Severus :)
