I thought I'd make a Release Party Post for us to chat about our experiences on, and share photos (if you took any)!!

So, I'll start with mine, in the comments, and we'll see where it goes from there! Hope you guys are eager to share! :D

They're a little pixelated, as all I had was my cell phone- I totally forgot my camera! (But that's okay, after all, it's the reason why I have a camera phone!)

The guy with the staff is a bard named Andrew Steed (http://www.andrewsteed.com/). He told three awesome stories, and was super rad! He wore wizard's robes, and his hair was blonde, instead of the brown you see on his wenbsite. (;

There was also a huge costume contest and a raffle, as well as wand making, The Great Snape Debate, and of course, the book!

I sooooo wanted to have my book last night... when people finally started screaming around 12:03, I was like, "S'about time!!" Then, we saw staffers running to the back with copies of the books... and an empty box. (For which two boys managed to get people to cheer for [they were spoofing the whole deal].)

You should make your kitty cat "I haz Harry Potter. ^_^" into an icon. :D I would use it!

heeeee...no, it's Animation Shop. :) I find it to be easier than ImageReady. But that's just me. :P

It was my first and last midnight book release party and I had an awesome time. Tons of stuff to do, plus I was a volunteer doing the trivia for people so I was one of the first people to get my book and get out of there.

Nah, there was like a 4-page spread about the movie, mainly explaining what happens and a few pictures. I just loved the cover =]

I had a great time at the event. As I used to work at the library, it was especially nice getting a chance to spend time with some of my favorite people + HARRY POTTER! :) So, here are a few of the pictures I took while I was trying to contain my excitement.


(Ok, I look like crap and the foreshortening is slightly terrifying, but still. It's me with Harry Potter and while I was not dressed for the occasion like some people, at least I was wearing my house (film) colors (totally by accident - I didn't realize until I was in my car on the way to my cousin's house for dinner. And yeah - I have no idea what that glowy white blob is on my elbow.)


This is Allison. She's been a friend of the family since forever and she works upstairs in the children's section.

Me again with Natalie, Allison's sister. Natalie works at a nursery and was acting as Professor Sprout for the event. I planted an Ox Eye Sunflower. :)

The pics are really cool! The Potter Potties and "Harry Potters place" were awesome. Did they add the Harry for the book? Or is it always like that?
