If the applications at [livejournal.com profile] platform_934 are screened before we see them, they should not get through if they are not under a LJ cut. The front page is clear that they need to be under a cut, so we should expect that of them. It's basic internet courtesy and it doesn't ask a lot of applicants to do this simple thing.

That's my humble.

I agree as well. I wouldn't mind them not being LJ-cut, if it wasn't part of the rules. But it is. If they aren't interested enough in our community to read our rules, why should we be interested enough in them to sort them?

I don't mind having to do a lot of scrolling for a reason. Being lazy is not a good reason. I don't waste my time on people too lazy to read rules - I can be lazy if they can.

I agree. Or maybe we should have a rule where no one is allowed to vote until they are put under a cut? Something anyway.

There are guidelines in right now to prevent that. Just recently (with the implementation of the new application), an lj-cut has been automatically added to the persons' application (it can be found on the [livejournal.com profile] platform_934 info page). Secondly, although people vote on the application, they are not allowed to be stamped until they put their application under an lj-cut :)

It seems in this instance the person probably started filling out the older application first, and just copied and pasted her answers in because the application had changed. But, because of the new applications, in the future we should see this problem go away... hopefully :) Unfortunately, I don't think a person can edit their application (and I don't think a mod can edit it at all, although I could be wrong) until it's been posted.

Aw, you beat me to it. :P That's almost exactly what I was going to say.

(Mods can't edit posts, BTW).

haha aw. At least someone got to say it? You got to have the great job of adding the lj-cut to the application and preventing this, so all my credit goes to you :)

That's what I thought, glad I wasn't wrong!

Hah, well I can't take credit for that; the idea to add it in was Bunny's. :)

Yes... well... you dealt with those crazy non-lj-cutters for so long, I give you credit anyways.

Then again, usually it seems to be simply a mistake where they read it but then forgot it, not a matter of disregarding the rules. Once it is unscreened, the first person (and usually at least a couple more) points out the lack of lj cut and, I think, all applicants fix it asap. Mistakes happen. I'm willing to happily overlook them if they are fixed without drama.
