Attention, students! The Hogwarts Is Home RPG would like to invite you to a Slumber party in the Common Rooms. There shall be punch and there shall be pie. Newcomers welcome.

The purpose of these “in-House” sessions is to …

1) stimulate interest in the RPG.
2) provide a summary of events so that new players don’t have to go in blind.
3) avoid separation feelings between the participants and the non.

For further information, feel free to contact the House RP Prefect (thankfully we managed to stick at least one in each House).

The "main" event is usually the head of the thread so yes most of the RPing is done in the comments. First person responses are preferred. (Early on there was a poll asking what sort of POV would people want and first person won.) However, there are quite a few slips into third person but as long as those slips remain occasional we're willing to let it go.

RPing is done in comments, yes. First person, yes. Main events are done as primary posts, and are third person to set the scene.

Owls are screened comments that are dropped off in the post. Once a day, these messages are delievered in the current owl post. This way, people can communicate between houses even when those houses aren't actually interacting.

The reason they're screened is because it translates to writing a letter. It's not instantaneous-it needs to be sent. Think of the posts about the post as the mailbox-you can drop a note off, or you can pick it up.
