Or Harry Potter... but about LJ, and therefore I found it relevant.

If you don't like the changes that are being made to LJ... making it more like MySpace? Ugh.

Okay, I don't want another goddamned Myspace page here in LJ. The internet's barely survived the camwhore LOOK-AT-ME page, if LJ gets like that it might just implode on the inside.

Harry Potter is LJ. LJ is Harry Potter. It's totally relevant. :P

I couldn't follow what she was trying to say in her article. No specifics on the before vs after, and WHY the changes are bad. I hate editing solely in rich text, but I've adapted.

So what if it's being marketed towards kids? They have the most disposable income and the greater propensity towards this market sector - it's good business.

I don't get it, someone please explain the umbridge?

I'm with you here. I'm totally confused.

I honestly like the changes. I think they're making the site much easier to navigate, but maybe that's just me.

I don't like Myspace very well, but I still don't see much of a correlation between the two.

I despise MySpace. It's less about interaction than self-promotion and MEMEME-isms. LJ still remains more a point of interaction and conversation...

I think I'm missing the crux of it, but I'm so glad I'm not alone in that!

you mean in lieu of fixing those bugs?
hmm.. could be they're running short on cash, and may be losing out to MySpace...

Are these publicly available on a group?
<-- so out of the loop.

I like the new customization area. It's so much easier.

The new userinfo...eh. It's kind of gross, but at least we have a choice.

And if this company is trying to change livejournal's target market...well let them try. There are enough original livejournal members who won't fit in and I can't see them stealing all the pimps and whores away from MySpace. So I'm not worried.

And I hate the new customization area - it is too crowded and less intuitive for me.

Also, they didn't say that we have a choice with the new userinfo, only that they know we want one.

The new userinfo page is the worst.

It actually looks like MySpace, with the dividers and information all split up and thrown across from one another in a completely irrelevant method of organization!

There are bugs and things that need to be fixed, and yet they're more concerned about 'easy navigation'!? Anyone who can sit there and look at a page for more than two minutes can navigate the old LJ. The new one is more confusing!

Considering LJ is already easily accessible by thirteen year olds without parental permission? Oh, let's make it even easier. I don't see the point in making it divided; HiH is a prime example of how people all across the age-board can get along and come together.

LAME, SIX-APART! LAAAME!

Yeah the userinfo is awful.

[livejournal.com profile] grrliz made it look nice, though. (http://grrliz.livejournal.com/472229.html)
