...Not about HiH...
Jun. 19th, 2006 11:21 amOr Harry Potter... but about LJ, and therefore I found it relevant.
If you don't like the changes that are being made to LJ... making it more like MySpace? Ugh.

Date: 2006-06-19 03:59 pm (UTC)So what if it's being marketed towards kids? They have the most disposable income and the greater propensity towards this market sector - it's good business.
I don't get it, someone please explain the umbridge?

Date: 2006-06-19 04:13 pm (UTC)I honestly like the changes. I think they're making the site much easier to navigate, but maybe that's just me.
I don't like Myspace very well, but I still don't see much of a correlation between the two.

Date: 2006-06-19 06:19 pm (UTC)And I don't think it's that. I think it's more that SixApart isn't as interested in the USER as Livejournal was.
At least it's what it's sounding like from the new designs and such that they'd been making.

Date: 2006-06-19 06:52 pm (UTC)The new userinfo...eh. It's kind of gross, but at least we have a choice.
And if this company is trying to change livejournal's target market...well let them try. There are enough original livejournal members who won't fit in and I can't see them stealing all the pimps and whores away from MySpace. So I'm not worried.

Date: 2006-06-19 06:55 pm (UTC)It actually looks like MySpace, with the dividers and information all split up and thrown across from one another in a completely irrelevant method of organization!
There are bugs and things that need to be fixed, and yet they're more concerned about 'easy navigation'!? Anyone who can sit there and look at a page for more than two minutes can navigate the old LJ. The new one is more confusing!

Date: 2006-06-19 06:57 pm (UTC)PLUS, the whole Vox thing being 'for adults' and the LJ being 'for teens'... who knows what they'd change to make it more TEEN-ACCEPTABLE?
MySpace immediately comes to mind.
