Gryffindor:
A Gryffindor's main description is brave. The person is passionate about their personal ideals, and isn't afraid to speak up. They support their idea of a greater good, and fight for that. They typically are the "whistleblowers" in real life, the ones who risk everything for the "greater good" and for justice.

Hufflepuff:
Hufflepuff is laid-back and usually optimistic. Their main goal is to the benefit and happiness of a group. In an application, look for stress on friends and caring about groups of people. A Hufflepuff is also very work oriented, always willing to help. In real life, they are the team, the ones who really get things done in the workplace and in government.

Ravenclaw:
Ravenclaws are the ones who focus on their own logic and feeling. This can range from depending on your own education to depending on your own "gut" feeling. They focus more on their own independent ideas, tending to be the advisers, strategists, or planners in real life. Look for an attention to detail in their applications, and an active drive to better their own knowledge.

Slytherin:
The snakes have their focus on the individual, but on individual passion instead of logic. They work to make their own personal world better, and are more concerned with that before anything else. They have to be clever, and they should understand what they want in life, and they don't let anyone else influence them. They are the "ladder-climbers" in the workplace, or sometimes the leaders. Look for specific goals in the application, and specific steps to reach those goals.
