New Term Officials Applications

As we near the end of this term, we -- as always -- open up applications for new Officials! If you're interested in helping out the community, please take a few moments to look over this post and see if there is a place for you to put your skills to the test! Officials earn salary, gain Moderator and Maintainer status for the appropriate communities, are given Officials Icons, and allowed entrance into hih_officials!

Current Officials may reapply for the positions they held! In fact, we honestly prefer some of you to reapply! ;) The Mods will be handpicking Officials (as that's been far more successful in the past, rather than the voting system), and so any hard work you've done in the past will most definitely be a plus for you. Old Officials may apply for other positions as well -- everything is open to everyone, regardless of previous experience, or how long you've been a member!!

Available Positions

Prefects - 4
Community: Common Rooms
Duties: Moderate membership to only those HiH members sorted into your House; post monthly in-house contests; resolve in-house issues; promote activity, etc.
Graphics-enabled? No.

Co-Prefects - 4
Community: Common Rooms
Duties: Backup for Prefects, should they be away or too busy to fulfill their own duties.
Graphics-enabled? No.

Text Contest Leader - 1
Community: hogwartsishome
Duties: Come up with text contests each month to post to the main community; tally the points/knuts for these contests.
Graphics-enabled? No.

Debate Leader - 1
Community: hogwartsishome
Duties: Come up with topics for debates each month to post to the main community; tally the points/knuts for these debates.
Graphics-enabled? No.

Quidditch Coach - 1
Community: hh_quidditch
Duties: Plan Quidditch Matches for the teams; keep members active, and replace those captains and players who can no longer play; maintain the Quidditch community; only moderate membership to Quidditch Players.
Graphics-enabled? No.

Hogsmeade Mod - 1
Community: hogsmeadewkends
Duties: Moderate membership to only members of HiH; open up the community once every six weeks to HiH members; post themed challenges; give out matching themed banners at the end of the weekend; tally points earned there.
Graphics-enabled? It's a plus.

HH Stamping Mod - Possibly 2
Community: hh_stamping
Duties: Keep members interested in the community by promoting every now and then; moderate membership to only those who are members of HiH; moderate the posting queue to allow the allotted number of applications through (four applications, Friday-Sunday); stamp finished applications every Thursday; maintain the character stamp lists and tag all stamped applications; tally points for voting on applications.
Graphics-enabled? It's a bonus.

Flourish and Blotts Mod - 2
Community: hh_flourish
Duties: Moderate membership to only members of HiH; develop monthly themes for the graphics shops; keep a cap on the number of posts each shop makes per week; tally the shops' points at the end of the month; approve new shops for 'business'.
Graphics-enabled? No.

Sorted Challenge Mod - Possibly 2
Community: sortedchallenge
Duties: Moderate membership to only members of HiH; come up with weekly graphics challenges for members to participate in; post the polls and results of those challenges; tally the points earned from the challenges.
Graphics-enabled? No.

Writer's Block Mod - 1
Community: hh_writersblock
Duties: Moderate membership to only members of HiH; come up with weekly writing prompts for members to try; keep all entries tagged; tally the points at the end of the month.
Graphics-enabled? No.

Clubs Mod - 1
Community: hh_clubs
Duties: Moderate membership to only members of HiH; keep Clubs active and make sure that each club is posting its assigned activities each month; approve new club leaders for existing clubs; gather points at the end of each month.
Graphics-enabled? No.

St. Mungo's Mod - 1
Community: hh_stmungos
Duties: Moderate membership to only members of HiH; come up with biweekly discussions and activities that center around world affairs, medicine, current events, etc.
Graphics-enabled? No.

Insomniacs Mod - 1
Community: hih_insomniacs
Duties: Moderate membership to only members of HiH; come up with weekly scavenger hunts for points, and other discussions for participation only; be sure that activities revolve around nighttime, etc.
Graphics-enabled? No.

Order of the Phoenix - Mod - 1
Community: hh_order
Duties: Moderate membership to only members of HiH who are in the Order; come up with weekly promotional assignments that are within the LJ guidelines -- no spamming, etc.
Graphics-enabled? No.

Order of the Phoenix - Members - 8
Community: hh_order
Duties: Promote, promote, promote! Follow the Order Mod's assignments each week to get new members for HiH.
Graphics-enabled? No.

Quibbler Editors - Up to 2
Journal: hihquibbler
Duties: Work on new editions of the Quibbler to come out monthly; as the news season gets busier (closer to release dates, information leaked, etc) you may be asked to make a weekly post, as well; tally points from submitted rumours.
Graphics-enabled? Yes.

Daily Prophet Editors - 2
Community: hihdailyprophet
Duties: Work on new editions of the DP to come out monthly; as the news season gets busier (closer to release dates, news released, etc) you may be asked to make a weekly post, as well; tally points from submitted rumours.
Graphics-enabled? Yes.

Yearbook Editors - 2
Community: hih_yearbook
Duties: Work on the Yearbook by developing templates to use, inserting members' pictures, information, quotes, etc. Keep up with any new submissions, adding them where they belong; tally points from submissions.
Graphics-enabled? Yes.

I'm a little confuzzled. I've only been a member of The Order for a month now, so I'm not sure if we're supposed to reapply or not? It only says '8' in the number of members, and I was thinking there are at least double that, so. Yeah, I'm confuzzled. Un-confuzzle me please? :)

Don't worry; just a new term shifting over. :) Nearly every single position is being offered -- simply reapply, and we'll more than likely rehire the old Order members who did a good job.

If all of the current Order Members reapply, we may simply hire on new ones in addition to the old ones!

Question before I post my application: when you say salary, do you literally mean money? Or some other form of payment (paid accounts, prizes, etc.)

what about new animagus board members and leader isn't that suppose to happen?

The Animagus division is actually a part of clubs, which makes the leader a Club Leader; those positions are not Officials and are replaced when they become inactive or resign. :) And the board members are up to the leader's discretion.
