What I'm Getting People: Brother got 2 books on comics, Sister got a sweatshirt, Mother got a sweatshirt and a crochet'd afghan (working on that since Sept.), Father got a book on trails and a Flesh-Eating Virus, Stepmother is getting a hat and scarf (homemade), friends are getting homemade gifts.
What I want: MONEY, Gift certificates (no one who buys me gifts, as a rule, has any taste)
What I'm giving: gift baskets, made up of smaller gifts with themes tailored to each individual- a My Little Pony basket, a pizza-theme basket... etc etc
Seriously though, I am asking for the black moto razr (because my crap lg keeps cutting out on me) and the tenth season of friends.
For my parents and brother, I'm not quite sure. I know that I'll probably get my little brother something for his computer (more RAM maybe) and a cd or two. I want to get my mom a gift certificate for a massage because she never pampers herself. I don't know what my dad is going to want, I'll have to research that a bit more.
I asked for the Blackadder DVDs and/or West Wing Season 1 and some books. I'm also hoping for clothes, because I really need new jeans.
My parents also paid for my plane ticket home, and that's the best present of all.
I am giving: Earrings and a book from the National Gallery for Mom, a book autographed by Stephen Fry for my Dad and some coffee(he's a fan ^^), a CD and some posters for my brother and a Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass, deerstalker hat and butterscotch from Harrod's for my grandpa. For my (female) friends, I'm getting them stuff from LUSH and Cadbury's chocolate spread, because we have neither in America and Cadbury's spread is the food of the gods. ;D
I want: ITunes giftcards, professional quality headphones, this cute hat and scarf from The Gap, and Victoria Secret shampoo and conditioner.
I'm giving people: Pair of Converse All Stars for my 14-year-old sister, a cast iron skillet for my mom (because she's always complaining how she's anemic and if you cook with cast iron it puts iron in your food), a cool red hanging lamp for my mom, a camera and Walmart giftcard (for film developing) for my 9-year-old sister, FCUK or Victoria Secret perfume for my 18-year-old sister, and probably some tickets to a Nascar race or wine-tasting festival for my dad (haha, those are on the opposite ends of the spectrum). I'm also knitting people fun scarfs and am thinking about doing another painting for my mom. My sisters and I are also thinking about getting our pictures made and putting it in a frame because my mom is always complaining how she has no recent pictures of us.
I want: dvds, cds, Harry Potter shirts from Hot Topic, Victoria Secret Vanilla Lace hand cream (it is wonderful!), Lost, video games, books.
What I'm giving, since I am a poor college student: I'm making cds for everyone I know with songs that they like and songs that remind me of them. I'm kinda crafty so I'm making wreaths out of a plain wreath and little things from Hobby Lobby. Candles are big with my family, as are those little sets at Wal-Mart of soup bowls, cereal bowls, and hot chocolate mugs. They are really cute.
What I want: The Complete Star Wars Saga on DVD, a Wacom Graphire tablet for my computer, Kelly Clarkson "Breakaway" CD, a Pea Coat from the Gap, and (I asked for it over a year ago) a sterling silver replica of the Evenstar.
What I'm giving: Wicked Soundtrack and Book for my mom (she's becomed obsessed); Chocolate covered cookies, the Little Black Book of Chocolate and HotChocolate scented Body wash for my stepdad (see a pattern here?); a Food Processor, candles, and the Blue collar DVD's for my Dad; and trial sized stuff from work (I work at Bath and Body Works) for my friends.
my best friend got an Evenstar for her one year aniversary last year with her boyfriend (they broke up) and my boyfriend's sister got it for Christmas last year :)
I've been so picky about it, cause there's 2 versions out there, one that actually looks like the Evenstar, and one that's inspired by the Evenstar. I want the one that is the actual replica. I almost asked for Galadriel's ring too, but too much, wouldn't go with anything I wear, and I'd rather have that from a boyfriend.
