Betta and I dressed as Lily Evans (me) and Amelia Bones (Betta) for Halloween. Betta doesn't actually KNOW she dressed as Amelia Bones, that's just the character I came up with for her in my head after I thought about it. Because they could have gone to school at the same time!! And it sounds better than saying 'A random Hufflepuff.' And...uh...sorry, Betta, for posting these here without telling you. Haha. Don't hurt me!

I thought I'd share the pics with you all! Sorry for the two of you who are friended on my journal and spammed with this twice.



My Gryffindor robes and skirt I made myself. Just in case anyone was wondering.





And last but not least, the BEST picture of the night. I didn't even know this girl but we saw each other across the room and our arms shot out to point at one another at the exact same time we both shouted "HEY!" So it was pretty awesome.

Wow! I like the outfit. Details, please! What pattern did you use, and what material is it made out of? I LOVE sewing so I just gotta know! Sorry, this is how I show my enthusiam and appreciate of hand made things.

Robe was an alteration of McCalls pattern 4340 with the sleeves cut to be less pointy and the hood cut to be moreso. I also had to take about a foot off the bottom.

The material is a wool suiting on the outer and a poly-cotton lining blend on the inner.

The skirt is like 95% wool and 5% spandex, so it's a teensy bit stretchy. I can't remember the pattern, it's a Simplicity pattern, like...5354 or something.

You two obviously went to a lot more effort with your costumes than I did :) We just ran around my campus and acted silly, pretending that we were our characters from hihnow_playing ^^;;

No, I'm not. Heh. My eyes are greenish-blue, depending on what I'm wearing. More blue than green, most the time. Why do they scare you?

I don't know what it is, but your iris just look too pale and your pupils pop out a lot at me. It's not that I'm not used to light colored eyes (I've blue eyes myself), they just look scary on you O.O Perhaps it is the wig...? I don't know I am but a humble and easily scared little Mandy ^^;;
