The Phantom of the Opera (Andrew Lloyd Webber adaptation)

Gryffindor
Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny (II) – he loves Christine very much, and he is willing to risk certain death to save her from the Phantom. He is a Gryffindor.
Erik (*) -- While he has strong Slytherin traits, he seems to me to be a deeply passionate person. He is bold enough to go to extreme lengths for the thing that he loves, not just something that he wants. He apparently has huge temper, and is stubborn for what he wants.

Ravenclaw
Madame Giry – a woman of many depths. She is a strict taskmistress, one who will accept nothing but the best. She also holds many secrets – she is the only one who knows the way to the vaults, she is the one who tells Raoul of Erik’s beginnings. This makes her a suitable Ravenclaw.

Slytherin
Carlotta Giudicelli – Carlotta is a leader. She doesn’t stick around when is in danger (Think of Me rehearsal), but she doesn’t stay away – she loves the limelight. She has her ambition – leading soprano of the Opéra Populaire – but she knows that to retain her public’s adoration she must return to the stage. She is a Slytherin.
The Phantom/Erik (*) – Dark, brooding, bitter – and yet capable of passion. He is a man of great cunning, one who has bade his time in the vaults of the Opéra Populaire. This makes him a candidate for Slytherin.

Hufflepuff
Christine Daaé (II) – Christine is loyal to her Angel of Music, despite longing to spend time with Raoul when he returns and sees her as Elissa in Chalumeau’s Hannibal. She is very compassionate – she shows the Phantom that she is not completely repulsed by his disfiguration, nor even his obsessive and psychotic tendencies. She is a Hufflepuff.

Pride and Prejudice

Gryffindor
Elizabeth Bennett: Ravenclaw. Okay, a lot of people will say she is a Gryffindor, but her wit and knowledge far surpasses her bravery (which is saying a lot). She is, to me, one of the ideal Ravenclaws.
Fitzwilliam Darcy: Ravenclaw. Sorry, stealing this one too! He is in my mind one of the most intelligent characters ever written. He is close to Slytherin, given his ambition and concern with status. However, he does not maintain these views throughout, and therefore is to be a Ravenclaw

Slytherin
Mrs. Bennett: Slytherin. She is very concerned for her daughters, and wants them not only to marry, but to marry rich. She has lofty, somewhat unrealistic, hopes for her daughters, but is always well-meaning.

Hufflepuff
Jane Bennett: Hufflepuff. If ever there were a more gentle, lovely, compassionate character written, I have yet to encounter them. I adored her character and found myself wishing that I had a friend and/or sister and loyal as her.
Mr. Bingley: Hufflepuff. He is clearly destined for Jane, for they both are similarlly dispositioned. He is, too, a caring, sweet, innocent gentlemen. He is one of those boy-next-door types.

Star Trek: DS9

Gryffindor
Kira Nerys: Gryffindor. She was a rebel fighter, she's known for rushing into things, and she's without a doubt one of the bravest people on the show.
Lt. Worf: Gryffindor. Anything else, to his mind, would probably be without proper warrior honor. He charges forward, determined to fight his way through without feeling the need to think first.

Ravenclaw
Julian Bashir: Ravenclaw. Besides his high intelligence, he has a habit of working through puzzles and mind games to find the solution. When offered a chance to be a spy though, he didn't take it-he thought it through and worked at figuring out the WHY rather than the simple power.

Slytherin
Ben Sisko: Slytherin. He has no qualms about going around the official channels to do what is necessary for his team, and doesn't mind fooling people if it's for their own good to his mind. His own ambition was subsumed into his anger over his wife's death, but still he worked to rise in rank and held to the power he was given.

Hufflepuff
Miles O'Brien: Hufflepuff. He's a solid, solid guy with intense loyalty to his friends and family. He's willing to do anything for them, but he wants to make sure it will do something to help them. No rushing, else I'd put him in Gryffindor.

Song of the Lioness

Gryffindor
Alanna of Trebond: Gryffindor: Because she is the embodiment of bravery, the original heroine of Tortall. She could fit well as a Hufflepuff too, with her hard work in regards to getting where she did, but I think that her bravery and passion rather takes precedent over that.

Ravenclaw
Gareth the Younger: Ravenclaw: So when he was younger he could have been a Hufflepuff. When he's older, gets made into Prime Minister, etc. He is so. Ravenclaw. That. It's. Just. Amusing. The reports, and how he actually enjoys doing them. How he carries around huge wads of paper just in case he needs them... he's an academic and he knows it.

Slytherin
Duke Roger Conté: Slytherin: Don't tell me that if you've ever read the books, you haven't noticed Roger's ambition, cunning, and other very Slytherin traits. He tried to take over the world, and failing that, managed to get himself brought back from the dead. No one can deny this one.
George Cooper: Slytherin: The Rogue at such a young age? And a network of spies? Another that you can't deny my magnificent house... so don't try it. George has so much sneakiness and ambition that he couldn't fit anywhere else.

Hufflepuff
Raoul of Goldenlake: Hufflepuff: He could fit in anywhere... but I think that his loyalty and hard work just wins over. He is so loyal, so much of a big brother, and well, so not an academic. He's ambitious, yes. He's brave, yes. But he is so much of a great friend and so very trustworthy and hardy that I deem him a Hufflepuff.

The Sound of Music

Gryffindor
Liesl von Trapp – Liesl loves with her whole heart. She is devastated by Rolfe’s rejection of her after the Anschlüss. She is a natural leader – one has to be, to be the eldest of so many children – and she does realise that the children’s tricks on their governesses. She is a Gryffindor.
Captain Georg von Trapp – Georg is a Gryffindor at heart. He is one for grand gestures – his ball for Elsa is hugely extravagant, with all of Salzburger high society invited to attend. He displays the Austrian flag proudly and does not hesitate to insult the future Gauleiter, Herr Zeller. He is clearly a brave man, having earned his Captaincy in the Imperial Navy.

Slytherin
Max Dettweiler – Slytherin. Max chooses to ignore Georg’s wishes to get the von Trapp children onto thestage – and almost succeeds! He has great ambition, which he fulfils through his groups of singers. He realises that ‘one has to at least pretend to get on with these people’ (the Nazis). He stays neutral at all times.
Baroness Elsa Ebberfeld – a most misunderstood character, Elsa nevertheless fits well in Slytherin. She lives well, and when she struggles to cope with Georg’s children, she comes up with an entirely brilliant plan – boarding school! Many a child sucked their breath at this point, and thought ‘bitch!’, but it is a most viable solution. She is careful to keep it from the children because she has seen that they have a disruptive influence on things and are quite crafty themselves.

Hufflepuff
Maria von Trapp – Maria does everything in her power to improve the children’s lives, to let them have fun and to teach them. She tries to fit into the family with everything she’s got, and she longs for everyone to feel included. Her warm-hearted, loving and hard-working nature make her a wonderful Hufflepuff.

Six Feet Under

Gryffindor
Claire Fisher: Gryffindor. She's probably the bravest of the bunch. She takes chances, goes into art school, puts herself out there. At least more than everyone else.
Nate Fisher: Gryffindor. He is very adventurous, travelling, doing outdoor sports. He also does right by his family.

Ravenclaw
Brenda Chenowith: Ravenclaw. She's had a tough life and is probably the more insane type of Ravenclaw. She over analyzes to the brink of insanity. Really, she's like the poster child for "When Ravenclaws go bad"

Hufflepuff
Ruth Fisher: Hufflepuff. Very family oriented. She's dependable, always has supper on the table and is always there for her children. She works hard at whatever she does and is loyal to her friends.
David Fisher: Hufflepuff. He's very loyal to his family, dependable and extremely hard working. A stickler for details, he'll work on something until it's done.

Scrubs

Gryffindor
Turk: Gryffindor. I'm sure that most surgeons are Gryffindors. They're all about the Glory.

Ravenclaw
Elliot: Ravenclaw. She can be seen as cold and not together, but she knows her stuff. It's just in the application that gets to her.
Dr Cox: Ravenclaw. Mostly I just played the elimination game with him. He's NOT a Hufflepuff because he's quite cold. He's NOT a Gryffindor because he's not really the fighting type and he's NOT a slytherin because he really isn't all that ambitious.

Slytherin
Carla: Slytherin. Carla is sort of a paradox. She is "just a nurse" but she has a lot of power and control in the hospital. She keeps things running and can often get her way. Plus her and Turk are a total Gryff/Slytherin couple.

Hufflepuff
JD: Hufflepuff. Simply because of his sensitivity and desperate search for a mentor. He's a hard working doctor and is sort of dependable.

Stargate SG1

Gryffindor
Colonel Jack O'Neill (II): Gryffindor, he's sarcastic and a procrastinator, but has a great sense of humor and is a good leader. He's a funny man and a hero. He's put his life on the line countless times to save his friends. He can be a bit rash in his decisions.
Samantha Carter (*): Gryffindor. While she is a brilliant astrophysicist, she's also a military woman with an incredible courage. When she was abducted and sold, she not only plotted her own escape, but worked towards the liberation of all of the women. She exhibits an amazing courage, and will go into situations that most men, let alone women, would never be willing to face.

Ravenclaw
Captain Samantha Carter (*): Ravenclaw, although, she is also brave, she's more about the books. She is sensible and always takes the reasonable approach to situation.
Daniel Jackson (*): Ravenclaw. Daniel will get so absorbed in trying to learn things that he'd risk his life to get one step closer to understanding the universe. He's an impressive scholar who studies out of a love of learning.
Jonas Quinn: Ravenclaw. Much like Daniel, Jonas is a passionate learner. He'll spend time learning about the most minute details of the people among whom he is living. On his own planet he was a scholar and research scientist.

Slytherin
Teal'c (*): Slytherin, In the first few seasons, Teal'c is very focused on saving his homeworld over helping earth, this shows his ambition. He is also very practical and takes the hands on approach to situations.

Hufflepuff
Daniel Jackson (*): Hufflepuff, also very brave and intelligent, Jackson is the peace-maker. He is always friendly and assumes the best in people, even to his downfall.
General Hammond: Hufflepuff, he's a good leader, but he is more epaceful than a gryffindor. He often bends the rules to help friends and will put others before himself.
Teal'c: Hufflepuff (*): Teal'c has exhibited great loyalty to the friends he has made on Earth. He is calm and cool under pressure. He will fight beside his friends, but does not seek glory for himself. He encourages his own people to organize under peaceful means and avoid the ways of their oppressors.

Star Wars

Gryffindor
Han Solo is a puffish Gryffindor, for his bravery and his loyalty.
Obi Wan is a Gryffindor. He is a brave fighter, no matter how the odds are, even in his old age.

Ravenclaw
Yoda is a Ravenclaw mainly for being so wise. He spent a great part of his life studying, and people would do well listening to him.

Slytherin
Anakin is a Slytherin because he is driven by his ambition to become the greatest Jedi ever. On this way, however, he fails to see what he loses by this striving for ultimate power.

Hufflepuff
I want to place Chewbacca into Hufflepuff. He's a brave fighter, true, but his loyalty is undying. He is always there for his friends in a very protective manner, and if you hurt them, you better run and hide fast, for his wrath will be horrible.

Toyko Mew Mew - Manga

Gryffindor
Pudding: Pudding is a very hyper Gryffindor. The first time she appeared, she jumped in front of Lettuce to protect her from bullies, fearlessly. She performs shows in the street, liking an audience. She also has the guts to take care of her family, stand up for those who need it and herself, and fight the aliens with strength and fire.
Ryou: Ryou is a Gryffindor, albeit a Slytherin-ish one. He is aloof, but has the spirit and confidence of a Gryffindor. He treats the girls with chivalry, although he does hide his actions behind a rude exterior.

Ravenclaw
Lettuce: Lettuce is a Ravenclaw. She is the ‘smart’ one of the group for sure, and loves reading and the library. She can be shy, but is easily the most intelligent of the girls and gains confidence as time goes on.
Keiichiro: Keiichiro is a Ravenclaw. He is the brains behind the Mew Mew project, separating the DNA from animals and implanting it in the girls to give them their powers. He is refined and intelligent, with excellent taste, and also a talent for creating new desserts in the café. He came up with the idea of using the café for a cover for the Mew Mew Project.

Slytherin
Minto: Minto is a Slytherin. She appears to, at first, be out only for herself, not liking to associate with ‘vulgar’ Ichigo. Minto is very proud of her wealth, breeding and social status, and performs in large ballet shows, determined to be the best. She refuses to do much work as its ‘beneath her’ while in the café, but is a good fighter. She venerates the even more successful Zakuro and wishes to emulate her. Nevertheless, when she becomes friends or associates with the other Mews, she cares for them and will protect them. She also has a wickedly sarcastic sense of humour.
Zakuro: Beautiful and successful, Zakuro is a Slytherin. She was at first uninterested in her role as a heroine because she, at a young age, already had a good career as a model. Although deep down she cares, she appears tough and independent, with a cool outer shell, preferring to be a lone wolf to people. She can be snide, given that she prefers to be alone and pursue her own path.
Kisshu: Such a Slytherin. He's an alien, trying to take over the world in one way and other, manipulating the animals on earth to his own purposes and after falling in love with Ichigo, attempts simply to 'own' her and take her, no matter how many times she said 'no'. He is incredably ambitious and single minded.

Hufflepuff
Ichigo: Ichigo is a Hufflepuff. Ichigo simply likes people. She tries to make friends with every new person she meets. She is desperately loyal to the boy she loves, even in the face of others trying to win her heart, and is concerned with justice and fairness, trying to save the planet and innocent animals from destruction. When her mission is explained to her she works hard at stopping the aliens, and in her job at the Mew Mew café she is the only one who ever does any real work. She’s kind, sweet, romantic and good hearted throughout.
Masaya: Masaya is a Hufflepuff. A Cedric like one – handsome, popular and always busy, working hard on his kendo team and to save the environment. He is dedicated to this, and also to Ichigo, to the point where he protects her in her fights. He is kind and gentle, and fair minded to everyone.

Veronica Mars

Gryffindor

Ravenclaw
Keith: Ravenclaw. I think Veronica gets her intelligence and wittiness from him. He is an excellent Private Investigator but he isn't as willing to bend the rules. This probably comes from being a father and being somewhat responsible.

Slytherin
Veronica: Slytherin. I was thinking Gryffindor, but then I realized that to be a Private Investigator, you have to be sneaky and clever. I think that Veronica always finds ways to get what she wants. Sometimes, she breaks the law to do so. Plus she has that delicious snark that I love about the Slytherin House. "Veronica Mars is smarter than me" was my favorite quote of the entire season.
Lily: Slytherin. She's the classic "bad seed" of the family. Also, she knows how to manipulate and get what she wants. She's a perfect counterpart for Veronica and is always up for adventure. She isn't particularly tolerant of certain people.
Logan: Slytherin. He's cunning, clever, biting. Ahh... I just love him.

Hufflepuff
Wallace: Hufflepuff. I think that Wallace is a perfect BFF. He's very dependable, and Veronica can often rely on him. Plus he's got a good heart, he's so awesomely protective.
Duncan: Hufflepuff. He's a marshmallow. He was this perfect caring, doting boyfriend for Veronica. He was also an excellent and supportive brother for Lily. Though he wasn't the most responsible.

When Harry Met Sally

Ravenclaw
Jess is a bit hard to determine, but I see him more in Ravenclaw than anywhere else. Probably because he is, just like Harry, very book smart.
Harry is a Ravenclaw, mainly because he's a philosopher with depth.

Slytherin
Joe is an ambitious business-man and belongs definitely into Slytherin. His goals in life are more centered around himself than on anyone else.
Sally is a Slytherin because she likes to have everything under control, including her feelings. She doesn't like to let go of that self-control, she needs it.

Hufflepuff
Marie belongs into Hufflepuff because she always sees the good in people, thus even lying to herself that her lover will eventually leave his wife which is against all evidence. That makes her a bit naive, but she's a good person at heart, which is all that counts.

Wicked

Gryffindor
Elphaba: Gryffindor, she's not affraid to face the world alone, even when she is hated by all. She takes her failure in stride an gets right back on the broom (bad pun) and tries again.

Slytherin
Galinda: Slytherin, she uses Elphaba to gain popularity and easily decieves people into believing she should be loved.
The Wizard: Slytherin, he really only cares about himself (not that that's all slytherins! Snake-love!) he uses multiple people and decieves the entire emrald city into thinking he's a real wizard.

Hufflepuff
Nessa: Hufflepuff, Nessa really only wants people to be happy, she doesn't care as much about herself as others.
Fiero: Hufflepuff, Fiero is really not that brave, he goes where he's told and takes care of others around him.

Without A Trace

Gryffindor
Jack: Gryffindor. He's the frontman. He's brave, courageous, law abiding. He's the one who calls the shots.

Ravenclaw
Danny: Ravenclaw. He's studying to be a lawyer. He's extremely intelligent. The episode 3x20, you can see what a 'Claw he is. Wait, maybe it was 3x21. Whatever, the one with his brother.

Slytherin
Sam: Slytherin. She's kind of secretive about her past, and she does get what she wants most of the time. She's cunning and smart.

Hufflepuff
Martin: Hufflepuff. He's very protective and loyal. Good boyfriend material. Has some father issues. (he's kind of like a Cedric Diggory)
Vivian: Hufflepuff. She's the heart of the group. A lot of the group rely on her and when she's gone, she's sorely missed. By everyone. Also, she isn't a glory seeker, when Jack comes back, she steps down, after she tells him off.

Wind in the Willows

Gryffindor
Ratty – laid-back Ratty strikes me as a Gryffindor. An outgoing sort, he isn’t hardworking in the slightest, nor does he have particular ambition (“there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats”). Neither is he overly intellectual.
Mole – Mole is a brave sort, putting up with Ratty and going along on the mad schemes Ratty concocts. He’s also a Gryffindor.

Ravenclaw
Badger – Gruff old Mr Badger is very wise. He tries to get Toad to listen to him about cars, but there’s just no hearing him. He is a Ravenclaw

Slytherin
Toady – Poor old Toad! He does get himself in a mess (‘Poop, poop!’). Well-meaning but always with some scheme to be making himself money or fame – I rather think he’d do well in Slytherin.

Winnie the Pooh

Gryffindor
Winnie the Pooh – Gryffindor. Even when he is getting lost stuck to the end of a balloon, floating far away from the Hundred Acre Wood, Pooh Bear has a great attitude.
Piglet – Gryffindor. Yes, Gryffindor! He might run around in a panic, but when it comes down to it, Piglet does what he must, and that takes bottle.

Ravenclaw
Owl – Ravenclaw – Owl is eccentric and obsessed with learning.

Hufflepuff
Eeyore – Hufflepuff. Eeyore works extremely hard, even if he is convinced that it will be of no use or that he will fail.

Miscellaneous Characters that Weren't Grouped

Ravenclaw
Holden Caulfield - Ravenclaw. Caulfield, throughout Catcher in Rye gave many interesting and thoughtful insights which leads me to place him in Ravenclaw. Although he dropped out of his prestigious prep school, his intelligence is what makes him shine as a character.
Elizabeth Bennett - Ravenclaw. This character from Pride and Prejudice is an intelligent woman with a keen sense of wit.
Atticus Finch - Ravenclaw. This character, from To Kill a Mockingbird is hard to sort. He displays the nobility of a Gryffindor in his willingness to represent a Black person in a White town, despite the personal repercussions. He displays Hufflepuff characteristics in his deep loyalty and kindness to his client. However, I think his deep insights make him a Ravenclaw.

Gryffindor
Jane Eyre - Gryffindor. Throughout the book Jane faces unparalleled misery and difficulties but manages to pull through with bravery and integrity.

Slytherin
Heathcliff - Slytherin. (Wuthering Heights). Heathcliff’s frustration over his inability to love Catherine forces him to act out in very cunning and sometimes cruel ways. It’s not his cruelty however, that makes me want to sort him into Slytherin, but the ways he goes about trying to get what he wants.
John Dashwood - Slytherin. Uncle of Elinor, this man inherits the Norland estate from his father and thinks up as many clever schemes as possible to shelter the money from his sister’s family, who is in much greater need of it than he.

Hufflepuff
Jane Bennett - Hufflepuff. Jane is extremely kind and Elizabeth’s confidante. Her extreme loyalty to her sister and kindness to all the characters makes her a classic Hufflepuff.
Elinor Dashwood - Hufflepuff. This character, from Sense and Sensibility is highly affectionate and friendly.
Colonel Brandon - Hufflepuff. The man in love with Elinor’s sister Marianne, is highly honorable, kind and gracious towards the impoverished Dashwood family throughout the novel.

Celebrities / Historical Figures

Slytherin
John Stewart - Slytherin. Stewart is difficult to sort. He embodies all of the houses. The Gryffindor in him is displayed by his willingness to be subversive-he isn’t afraid of what others will think, do or say. He embodies a Ravenclaw in his extreme intelligence and wit (after all ‘wit beyond measure is man’s greatest treasure). He also takes on the humour of a Hufflepuff. However, I feel Slytherin is most appropriate. Stewart has a cunning and acerbic manner. He knows how to make clever remarks and be subtle like only a Slytherin would.
Seth Green - Slytherin. With his pointed sense of humour and adroitly jokes and judgments, I think that Green’s clever style would make him a suitable candidate for Slytherin.
Sandra Bullock - Slytherin. Anyone who’s seen “Miss Congeniality” can attest to her acerbic wit and cunningness.
Paris Hilton - Slytherin
Cillian Murphy - Slytherin
Jude Law - Slytherin
Madonna belongs into Slytherin for being an ambitious perfectionist. Plus she doesn't care about controversies she might cause.
Britney Spears is also rather a puffish Slytherin. Puffish for her charity work; Slytherin for her ambition and her perfectionism.
Jennifer Lopez is a true Slytherin at heart because she's so ambitious and wants to be perfect and successful in everything she does.
Pontius Pilate – in choosing to attempt to save his own neck rather than act for the good (by releasing a known murderer and condemning a man he knew to be innocent), Pilate proved himself a Slytherin. There are other elements, of course – one does not get to be Governer, even of a backwater like Judea, without ambition.
Niccoló Machiavelli – this political thinker wrote some of the most controversial philosophical treatises in the history of humankind. They can be taken at face value – which is where we get the term ‘macchiavellian’ – or they can be seen as a way to curry favour with the Prince of Florence of Macchiavelli’s time, a warning to the people that this is the status quo. He was a duplicitous man of many layers – a Slytherin.
Eleanor of Aquitaine: So very, very Slytherin. From the time she was sixteen, she worked to first become Queen of France, then when she no longer had influence there she divorced the King and married Henry of Anjou. She then worked to make sure he gained the throne of England, and when HE no longer listened to her she started multiple wars against him, using their sons. You may have heard of them-Richard the Lion Heart, King John of the Magna Carta...all Eleanor's work. She outlived nearly everyone, and in a time period where women were rarely even seen, let alone heard, she made herself KNOWN.

Gryffindor
Bill Clinton - Gryffindor. I am not saying I condone his affair (which was no one’s business), but Bill Clinton stuck with his presidency despite a TON of negative media and scandal and ignored extremely nasty remarks like only a Gryffindor could.
Lance Armstrong - Gryffindor. Both brave on the bike and during his up-hill battle with cancer, Armstrong is a typical Gryffindor.
Salma Hayek - Gryffindor
Reese Witherspoon - Gryffindor
Vince Vaughn - Gryffindor
Sir Francis Drake was a real Gryffindor: adventurous, brave, daring.
Bono from U2 is a puffish Gryffindor: very committed to charity and a fierce fighter for equality and human rights.
Geri Halliwell - Gryffindor; Once the leader of the Spice Girls, impulsive, daring, passionate. Red-haired... She pinched Prince Charles's butt. 'nuf said.
Emily Wilding Davison was a Suffragette. She was the woman who threw herself under the King’s horse at Derby to aid the cause of Votes for Women who died four days later, so becoming the first suffragette to die for the cause. It was the last in a series of acts which had led to her imprisonment and force-feeding on numerous occasions. Such grand, reckless gestures make her a Gryffindor.
Jesus of Nazareth – Jesus was a Gryffindor! He knew that he would have to die in order to redeem the souls his Father so cherishes, and yet he went ahead anyway.
Sienna Miller – Sienna has needed a lot of courage to get through the last few years. She has suffered post-partum depression, split up with her husband and discovered that Jude was having an affair with the Nanny she had hired for their children. But she keeps on smiling and keeps on working. This determination makes her a Gryffindor.
Prince Harry – the younger son of the Prince of Wales can be reckless and is not particularly academic. He is currently pursuing a career in the Army, and insists that he will be on active service, not staying at home whilst his boys are out in danger (although, being only third in line to the throne, this may prove an untenable position). He is a well-meaning Gryffindor.
Eric Clapton- Gryffindor; I think of an incident that occurred on Clapton’s latest tour. One night’s show was going to be taped for a DVD or some kind of Live Program. Well Eric’s Manager and Publicist told him that he could wear anything he wanted except white because it washed him out on camera. This excluded Eric’s favorite white, button-up shirt. So Eric’s manager made sure that once his white shirt was dirty, that wardrobe didn’t wash it in time for the taping. Knowingly, Eric snuck into wardrobe, stole the shirt, and washed it in his dressing room sink. He kept his door locked to everyone until right before the show started. To the horror of his manager, Eric was taped in his white shirt just like he wanted.
Gandhi: Gryffindor. Only a man of true courage could accomplish what Gandhi did. He was willing to place his own life on the line in order to make a change in the world. His acts of passive resistance might not have been a charge into battle--but it was something that few people before or since have actually had the bravery to do.
Ani Difranco: Gryffindor. She's always had the guts to sing about things that matter to her, whether it be abortion, women's rights, politics, or love. She's highly outspoken about the things that matter to her, and she's not afraid to take action either. She is a fierce individual.
Jean Harlow, an actress and sex symbol of the 1930's, is a Gryffindor through and through. She was a smalltown girl who had big time dreams and was not going to settle for anything but stardom. Her fiesty and "never say die" nature. She was the original blond bombshell. She lived a short life but she lived it so fully that she made over 35 films in her 26 years. She took chances in her choices in roles could seem brash and there were no limitations of what she would do, even if they were taboo for the time in which she lived. In her film, "Red Headed Woman," she played an adulterous, gold-digging, home wrecker. She held her own with great actors such as Spencer Tracy and Clark Gable, with whom she did 3 and 6 films respectively.

Ravenclaw
Carl Rove - Ravenclaw. No matter where you stand on his politics, there is no denial of this brilliant political strategist’s ability and extreme intelligence.
Ben Affleck - Ravenclaw. Affleck posses the hardworking and loyal qualities of a Hufflepuff, but his intelligence and involvement in charity work leads me to sorting him into Ravenclaw.
Bill Gates - Ravenclaw. Must I even explain myself? Gate’s brain has bought him his fortune. Both a brilliant marketer and programmer, Gates is a definite Ravenclaw.
Natalie Portman - Ravenclaw
Marilyn Manson - Ravenclaw
Tina Fey - Ravenclaw
J.R.R. Tolkien was a Ravenclaw because he loved books so much and wanted to bring people closer to fantasy. He wanted to prevent the roots of British legends to be forgotten. He really cared a lot about knowledge.
Bill Gates is a Ravenclaw with lots of Slytherin traits. He's smart, definitely, but without his ambition he wouldn't have achieved so much.
Jodie Foster – a successful actress, Jodie is a magna cum laude graduate of Yale University (literature) and is fluent in French to the point that she speaks her own lines if she is performing in a French film. She enjoys learning for learning’s sake, making her a Ravenclaw.
J. R. R. Tolkein: Ravenclaw. While he is most famous for writing The Lord of the Rings, he was actually a remarkable scholar. He was one of the preeminent medeivalists of his day, studied numerous languages, and wrote volumes of scholarly work.
James Joyce: Ravenclaw. He was a man fascinated with language, for no reason other than personal joy. Try to read Ulysses and tell me that isn't the work of a Ravenclaw. No one else would have the patience to embed so many meanings into a single sentence.
Though he is difficult to place, Vincent D'onofrio seems to fit best in Ravenclaw. He has a very calm and collective nature and, he knows himself, what he likes to do and what he is capable of as an entertainer. He is critical of himself and his work, he is known as somewhat of a perfectionist. He is not competitive or really prefers his anonimity to being the center of attention. He makes choices in his career that allow him to play the roles he would like and persue other ventures, such as producing and directing. He can seem a bit intimidating or, at least, that is how some people perceive him. "When you are introduced...he doesn't look straight at you for long, but you know he just measured you....it seems he was trying to gauge the challenge you might present to his intellect." -Who Weekly June 15 2005. His wit and his humor are subtle but still discernable.
Joshua Jackson would fit in perfectly with Ravenclaw. While he has a definate flare for the dramatic, having performed on stage, on the big and small screens since he was a young child, he has also developed a life long passion for knowledge. As a kindergarden student, he realized that a conventional American education would not satisfy his thirst for knowledge. According to Joshua's mother, who attended a convent school in Ireland during her childhood, "He didn't want to be painting and singing, he wanted to be learning lessons, like I did." And now, Josh is an avid Philosophy reader, and pretty much outsmarts anyone in a discussion.

Hufflepuff
Jennifer Lopez - Hufflepuff. This clothes, music, and acting mogul is as hardworking as it gets. A definite Hufflepuff.
Jennifer Garner - Hufflepuff. Although rather astute, Garner displays extreme loyalty, charity, and amicability that are characteristic of a Hufflepuff
Kate Hudson - Hufflepuff
Annie Lennox is a true Hufflepuff for loving peace so much.
Jesus was a Hufflepuff. Do I really need to explain? ;p
Iris Berben (German actress): Hufflepuff for her charity work and for her care for everyone who's underprivileged.
Kofi Annan – the UN Secretary General studied at University in Minnesota in the early 1960s, despite ongoing difficulties with his ethnic origins (he is Ghanaian born, but more pertinently to America of the 1960s, he is black). He worked his way through the UN and worked tirelessly on numerous campaigns, trying to make a better world for all. He is a Hufflepuff.
Lady Jane Grey, ruler of England immediately after Edward VI, known as the nine-day Queen. Jane had circumstance thrust upon her by her husband and family alike. She was used for political posturing. She was a quiet, hardworking child; as an adult, she held unswervingly to her faith. She was a Hufflepuf.
Millicent Fawcett was the founder of the NUWSS (National Union of Sufragette Societies) in 1897. Her campaign was slow, steady and completely peaceful, until it was overtaken by higher profile women such as the Pankhursts, who were not above a few stunts to get on the front page. Fawcett’s campaign makes her a Hufflepuff.
Donny Osmond- Hufflepuff; Donny is one of the nicest people I’ve ever known. He truly puts others before himself. For example, he’ll never say “no” to a fan and instead sign autographs into wee hours of the night. Donny genuinely cares about his band, and wants them to have just as much attention as he gets. Even more, Donny has extreme cases of stage fright and stage anxiety. He’d rather not be seen as “the star”.
The Dalia Lama: Hufflepuff. He exemplifies compassion, open-mindedness, selflessness, and steadfastness. He's the kind of person who leads by example, and accepts his fame without actively seeking it.
Cary Grant was a man who embodied some of the main qualities that are associated with Hufflepuff. While his live began as, what appeared to be, an average exsitence, Cary Grant emerged as an extraordinarily gifted actor and all around generous man. His work, in many ways, touched the lives of so many people and has. He is considred to be one of the greatest actors of all time and he inspired generations that proceeded him. The late Christopher Reeve said that he based his portrayal of Clark Kent in the Superman films on Grant in the early part of his career and Ian Fleming modeled the James Bond character partially with Grant in mind. Not only was he inspiring as an actor, but he was dedicated to his profession. His hard work and life experience allowed him to put his heart and soul into every role that he played. For example, thanks mainly to the strength and physical dexterity he gained as an acrobat when he was young, he did a majority of his own stunts during his film career (far more than people would think). His impecable work ethic and passion for acting also kept in the business until the age of 62. His greatness was not limited to what he did on the screen. At the height of his popularity, World War II was going on and Grant had strong ties to both Great Britain, where he was born and discovered his love of acting, and the United States. His acts of philanthrophy during this time period, to aid in the war effort, was quite noteworthy. He gave his entire fee for The Philadelphia Story (1940) to the British war effort and donated his entire salary for Arsenic and Old Lace (1944) ($100,000) to the U.S. War Relief Fund.

Heh! I wish I knew where we were supposed to submit these. I'm tempted to sort the characters of Firefly, and Red Eye.

And Cillian Murphy as a Slytherin? HEH. I don't know much about the actor, but I could name at least one of his characters that'd make a lovely slytherin.

I never got around to posting mine, but can I add The West Wing to the list?

POTUS (aka Jed Bartlet)

Jed is a perfect example of a Ravenclaw. He's smart, and loves to let his intelligence shine through in every possible situation, often to the point of irritating his friends, staff, and especially his wife. He retains a large number of useless facts (as useless as any fact can be for the President.) He makes decisions based on logic, even if they contradict his religious beliefs, as he needs to think of the good of the country first.

CJ Cregg

I see CJ as a Gryffindor. She's outgoing, and willing to put herself in harms way to protect her friends. She's not afraid to give her opinion, even if she's possibly wrong. She's driven, but (as far as we know) she doesn't resort to manipulative tactics in order to get what she wants. She's incredibly loyal to her friends.

Donna Moss

Donna's without a doubt a Hufflepuff, although it's a little surprising that she has a bit of Slytherin in her as well. She's kind and selfless, always putting others before herself (albeit sometimes grudgingly, especially when she has a date.) She's incredibly loyal to her friends, but isn't willing to take crap from them. She has her own ambitions and desires, which she's willing to push for, adding a Slytherin-like quality to her sweet personality.

Josh Lyman

Josh is one of the harder characters to place. I would say he is a Slytherin. He's driven, and has a need and desire to achieve greatness. He's not afraid to push people to get his own way. He's very opinionated, and sticks to his guns, no matter what happens. The only thing that sets him apart from other Slytherins is his dependence on Donna. Most Slytherin's are independent, but not Josh. Still, I feel he belongs in the house.

Toby Ziegler

Toby is probably the hardest character to place of the West Wing crew. I see a bit of three of the four houses in him, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, but would have to settle for Ravenclaw in the end. He's very intelligent, witty, and a creative genius. He's sarcastic and slightly abrasive, but I see a lot of care in him, which makes me think of Hufflepuffs. He pushes people because he wants what's best for everyone involved. He's incredibly selfless, and overall a wonderfully multifaceted character.
