We have a Half-Blood Prince related topic, but we want to be sure that a majority would be willing to participate. If you haven't read the book yet and don't want to be spoiled, don't worry. Er. I'd need to see the guidelines for the debate before I can vote. There are quite a few potentially inflammatory issues in HBP.

Um... percieved misogyny, issues with the way abuse is presented, as well as more typical concerns about `ships and the actions and motivations of characters...

Well, for now, just vote on if you'd like to participate in a debate that could bring up some topics from HBP. That's all we're asking for right now. If you see the topic and don't want to debate in it, you don't have to.

We don't have a debate team or certain debate people picked out for the main Hogwarts debate. ^^ It's a free for all.

I'll need to know the topic of debate *like what about HBP are we debating* before I can vote to be in the debate.

We don't reveal the topic until just before the debate. Gives an unfair advantage.

This is just a very general question- would you have issues debating a topic where points from HBP might be used in the debate itself.

I said no for now only because I'm still waiting for a willing friend to lend me their copy since the library screwed up. Though I have been going to B&N on my breaks at work...but I can only read about 1.5 Chapters in that 30 min time (because it is quite a bit away from work). I guess it really depends when this debate is since it wasn't mentioned in the post.

It's riddled with typos here and there, so it's taking me longer to read it since I've been correcting them as I go. heh.
