The Half-Blood Prince promotion contest is tonight!! :) For details and reminders, you can read about it in full here; if you still have time to make plans, the location database is here. Please submit your photos in a comment to this post by no later than noon US CST tomorrow (July 16th); I'll even allow you to take pictures if you decide to forgo the parties tonight and do your promotion tomorrow morning. I will allow you to turn in scanned/developed photos until one week from the deadline, as long as it is obvious that they were taken at the event. If there is any suspicion whatsoever, it will not be accepted. Remember -- this is easy points. Not only easy, but worth...

Care to make the Lions eat their words for claiming that House Cup? Then you'd better get out there and take those pictures!! :)

Now, for those of you who will be confined to your homes for the evening, your alternative contest is under the cut. :) Have fun!!



This will be worth fifty points; if you are participating in one, you cannot participate in the other.

Your task is to create a House Cup from fifteen various household items. You may use absolutely ANYHING that doesn't resemble a trophy cup / award, and anything that isn't vulgar. *cough* I know the way some of you lot think. ;) You are then to take a photo of your creation and post it in the comments below.

If you do not have a digital camera, you may sketch a creation! The same rules apply -- only household items. If you do not own a scanner to scan your creation, then you may turn to the last resort of morhphing photos of items together and making a house cup via a graphics program.

You will have until midnight tonight (in your time zone) to complete this assignment!

Remember -- you have to use a minimum of fifteen objects!! Also, don't forget to sign your name and house to your entry! Good luck and have fun!

Gah. The girl who took pics of me with my fliers has informed me that the pictures "didn't come out". One other person took photos, but I wasn't holding the fliers in those. Is there any other way I can prove I was there with fliers? Since I don't own a functioning camera, I was reliant on others to take the pictures for me.

How badly did the pictures come out? :-/ If they're just fuzzy or dark, you can still post them. I can't imagine them all coming out completely unviewable?

I just double-checked and I was correct.. they didn't come out at all. You can see the thread about the pictures here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/mariannec/106655.html?view=247455#t247455). One other person took a photo that can show I was there, but I wasn't holding my fliers in that photo because it was well after I'd finished passing them out and after I'd come back from a late dinner, right before we went to stand in line. I have people who can vouch that I was there and handing them out.. I'm so annoyed at that camera right now.
