And even in my little state of Indiana, books stores are stupid....
Just be warned that the guy that bought it has read it, and reveals one chapter title, and gives his opinion on the reading so far.

I guess my good heart would have been saying tell them that those books aren't for sale! That's just me.

I guess nine year boys have more common sense than those of 25 and older boys!

That's true about the boy, but those two ARE old enough to know better. Its such a shame in my honest opinion.

Lol I love that little kid

I probably would have read it, though. Temptation would have been to great.

Hey, I live in Indiana too! Like 25/30 minutes Southwest of Indianapolis-do you know of Mooresville? That be where I reside. The Meijer where I work got the copies today and I was like ooh can I just see the box?!? A team leader informed me that the boxes were already locked up. Sad day...

How do they not know to sell the books, is my question. Everyone knows when this book goes on sale!

EXACTLY!! And they keep showing pictures that the books were shipped in boxes that say, in very large letter, DO NOT OPEN UNTIL MIDNIGHT JULY 16. Some people.

I know! If you work in a bookstore, you really don't have an excuse for not knowing when it gets released!

if this was in south florida or something i could totally understand and be all "Well most people in drugstores down here dont speak english anyways so they probably got confused!"...but i dunno..maybe they speak a different language in Indiana? I should go to a drug store down here and convince them to put out the books *nods*

kickass! At least you get HBP early!

that's my thoughts! This is like the most famous book in the world right now. Even if you don't read HP (I know, the nerve hehe) you SHOULD know that it doesn't come out until tomorrow night at 12:01, especially if you work in a bookstore!

Date: 2005-07-14 09:05 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kaleidoruby.livejournal.com
Exactly. Everyone knows about it! Every bookstore I've seen has big signs up with countdowns until the release! There's really no excuse for it.

Really. *exasperation* And shouldn't the management have set it up so the computer system would display a warning message or something? This is what lawsuits are mad of, IMO.

Oh I know! It's not that hard to do - but still, I firmly believe there is NO excuse for books being released early. You have to be under a rock to not know - and i fyouw ork for a bookstore, you're deifnitely not living under a rock.

Oh...and in the article..."a feat worthy of the young wizard himself?" WTF? I just can't see it. Oh, well. And, although I'm excited about it, I wouldn't have time to read it today or tomorrow anyway...so I'd give it back, get free stuff, and then go get it when I could actually sit down and read it.

And you guys are right. They really should have known better. What's the point in reading it if you can't talk about it with anyone?

I definately would have bought and read it :P

...with all these leaks (well like three but...yeah) I want to go try and find a copy xP - too bad I can't drive.

There goes my theory that people who worked at bookstores would have to be able to read.

personally I wouldn't have bought them in the first place, why do it early? You'd be left out of the fun and no one would want to talk to you for fear of spoiling the book.

Some people like to stand on rooftops with megaphones and tell people what they don't want to hear. Some people enjoy spoiling others.

Curses! *wishes she lived closer than 3ish hours away from Indy*
I could have the book early. Though I wouldn't have run to the media about it. I might mention it to a few close friends tht I saw it out, but I wouldn't say anything about it.
Some people.
