For any of you in London, I send my best wishes to you and pray that you, your families, and friends are safe from harms way.

What is this world coming too...

We never really thought it would happen to us. We prepared and said "Ooh we should get ready in case we got bombed!"

But no one ever really thought it would happen.

There was a large possibility of me being on the Edgeware Road train. I'm still in shock.

I hope everyone else from London is ok, I'm on aim if anyone feels like talking about it.

I'll third it. Humanity really stinks sometimes.

I was dismayed to hear the news this morning. It was the first thing my mom said to me when I got up, and I just sat in bed, wishing I could do something...I hope you all know that you are in our thoughts.

I was horrified when I got the call this morning. My mum immediately called my aunt, but luckily everything is fine.

Hugs to everyone down in London, our thoughts are with you.

I'm thinking of you all down there. I really really hope none of you have lost anyone this morning.

If it wasn't for the fact that I was at Live 8 in Edinburgh last night, I might well have been down in London on holiday just now. Just brings on home the reality of it all, doesn't it?

Much love and many hugs to those in London and those with friends and family there. I don't know what else to say, other than you all will be in my thoughts.

My online friend was in the underground... or the tube... train thing... when it blew up.

She's out, but extremely shaken, as am I. The images she described were beyond your worst nightmares... it's awful.

I pray for everyone else...

Yea, and I just heard from another friend that her dad is still missing. I'm trying to comfort her as best as possible, but... how do you?

♥ to everyone affected by these tragedies. as an American, i know only too well the terrifying feelings that accompany a terrorist attack on your soil, whether you are actually in the city it happened or not... it's all very surreal.

my thouhgts and prayers are with you all right now.

Rather late to be checking in, but I have been away for a week in Herts at my Aunt's (this is about 10miles from central London). My (current) home is 1/4 mile from Aldgate though...was weird seeing it all on the news.

Having said that, I agree totally with what Paul Wells said on weblog.macleans.ca - "If you were a fanatic murderer who liked to flatter yourself on your knowledge of history and you wanted to terrorize a population, could you possibly choose a worse target than the people of London?" (quoted in Saturday's The Times).

It's like the Blitz, or the IRA campaign of the 70s/80s again - we're juts getting on with it. And we don't know what restrictions there will be, or what diversions we'll have to make, to get to and from the office, but we'll get on with it, because if we don't then they have won. And they will not win.
