Which should be easy, considering how many of you listed that as being on your top ten list!! ;) Speaking of, the response was... amazing. I'm incredibly proud of how excited everyone's gotten over it!
Don't forget to check the Tri-Wizard Tournament Champion application here. :)
Since it was asked yesterday, the font for the numbers is "Freebooter Script". :)

Date: 2005-07-06 11:30 am (UTC)My dad was in Palm Beach *you have to know where this is heading* for both Frances and Jeanne last summer. So you can imagine how horrible it was for him when they got hit with two storms in two weeks... not mentioning the fact that the power wasn't reconnected the correct way afterwards. Then they moved back to New Orleans... *irony* And then it snowed in NOLA for Christmas... *told Dad that the weather follows him... and it's proving to be correct...*
GOING NORTH IS STUPID! Tell them all that. Living in the suburbs of the lowest city in the 50 states (I'm from Belle Chasse, which is right on the river... south of New Orleans) not only do I *know*, you're constantly scared of what is going to happen if a REALLY BAD STORM were to hit. If Ivan would have hit... New Orleans would be non-existant.
The biggest reason why a northern route is stupid is... everyone is already heading that way, and it's bad if you get stuck in the bad weather when it HEADS NORTH. Heading west is definitely wonderful... and at this rate, it seems that Hammond is in the clear zone. Everything *south* of I-12 will go. I'll be sitting on beachfront property... *gets out deck chairs and sits on the side of the interstate*

Date: 2005-07-06 11:36 am (UTC)YES!! Christmas snow last year!! XD Didn't stick here, though, just flurried all pretty-like. I was so jealous of all the snow that TEXAS of all places got.
Exactly -- I just don't *get* that. Why escape the initial hit just to get swamped by the weather when it moves north and spawns many more tornadoes?
That always scares me when I think of hurricanes going through LA. I know how stubborn people can be and you just know people would stay there. >

Date: 2005-07-06 11:40 am (UTC)The snow was so awesome. I was at my dad's house, a block from my old high school... and we had actual snow sticking to everything... the ground, the cars... We wrote "Christmas 2004" on the hood of my car, and made a mini snowman. Did I mention it was ON CHRISTMAS DAY?! So pretty. We went up the levee and watched the snow fall on the Mississippi River... beautiful.
EXACTLY! Which is why when my mom tries to get me to come to North Carolina, where she lives, when these storms come in... I'm like... er NO?
Y'know what? I know this sounds harsh... but sometimes I wish that these storms would wipe out all the stupid people. Then New Orleans would be such a better place to live... Louisiana's IQ levels could be raised with one storm... *sigh* Personally, I hope they take Gov. Blanco out FIRST. *giggles*

Date: 2005-07-06 11:46 am (UTC)New Orleans baffles me. It's so freaking pretty yet half the people there treat it like crap. >< And I don't *get* the fascination with Bourbon Street. Sure, it's a landmark. But if I wanted to stroll down a street with lots of antiquated buildings that smells like stale beer cans and vomit, I can do that here. Love NO though. Especially the pretty bits.
...LOL I love you. XD Why haven't I friended you sooner!?!
